Why does the description say it is long range for the player who prefers to support from the rear, when its accuracy is worse than the standard assault rifle?
With experience using the Reaper DMR during the beta this confused me as well when it decides to be accurate. Close to medium range the accuracy is not very good as it is more similar to the Heavy Assault LMG. This gun really shines beyond medium range because of how fast it can take out opponents. It is best used while ADS and not hip-firing of course. Personally I would rather use the Gauss Rifle instead as the Reaper DMR only holds 20 bullets but in turn trade the limited ammunition for the high stopping power. Overall, every gun is situational and can often times just be determined by preference.
this gun is pretty good if you get the hang of it with semi auto, but honestly the pistol is a better choice in CQB. play it like a sniper honestly, and if you can find a few snipers to hang out with that might be best because then you can top them all off and watch out of flankers. The issue i have is when you swap weapons it resets the Reaper DMR to fully auto if you had it selected on semi...which is obnoxious...
Disagree with you, wampa. There's exactly two places where the DMR shines; 50+ Meters, and when you stick it directly in someone's gut (not 5M, thats too far for auto.) Semi automatic fire, learn to compensate for the recoil quickly, and it is honestly a competitive choice against snipers; offering more versatility and slightly less damage, but no scope sway.
The reaper is good, but you HAVE to master using the semi auto. Only go full auto at short to medium with it. And aim for the head and they drop very quickly, people usually dont expect to be sniped by medics that quickly so 3 to the head and they're dead.
Was using the reaper before release and it sorta sucked pretty bad... did it get buffed on release at all?
