Too bad I was too late shooting a video. And I cannot find back the name of the guy. Either way, when I find it I will post his name for sure. But I was shooting him with my AAmax, I did see impact. And yet he did not take any damage. I haven't seen much cheaters ingame as topics there are about cheaters.. But still I wonder: Will you ever do anything proper about it besides banning? In any game, cheaters will always be gamebreaking and a strong reason to not play/invest anymore
If you mean you were shooting at an aircraft and he took no damage, then that's a bug that pops up every now and then. I've noticed it happen once or twice recently. The flak will detonate but the aircraft will take no damage. Think you have to resupply or relog to fix it, I don't remember.
I don't know if this particular case was a cheater, but this sounds similar to many issues others and myself have had with hit detection. Your client thinks you're hitting them, and shows you to be, but really you're not and thus you get not red hitmarkers and no damage dealt. Edit: Sniper by cougarbit, but yeah basically what he said.
hits are determined entirely client side. specifically, your client. what's more likely, that this super elite hacker managed to somehow specifically single out your computer and specifically hack your planetside 2 client with his superior hacking prowess, or that there's a bug in the client that makes hit detection go wonky/fail entirely?
Could be the problem with hit detection like Ribero said then. I've not heard of any cheat or exploit that gives a vehicle invulnerability, but there's plenty of bugs around that can give limited versions of it.
Oh and yes Purg, like that... It's not so bad if it happens every once in a while. But it sure is hella annoying when you have at least 6 scythes over your head, so it was beyond of a waste of ammo
