[Suggestion] Range Reduction on Air/Ground AA

I don't think AA should be nerfed till ESFs are nerfed to a none Lonewolf level.

    >Buffing air

    haha, how about no.
  3. holycaveman

Rocket pods? Seriously? What a joke. The m18 rotary will take a tank out just as quick. And better on max's.
  4. UberBonisseur

Hossin will have a dense canopy that separates air from ground
  5. CruelStriker

I too can't wait for Half-life 3. If there are cloud layers on Hossin then they had better add them to the others, Nothing more fun than dive bombing from a cloud layer after having your teammates mark out enemies below.

    "I cant lolpod ... Do something !!!"

Its funny how good pilots are still as untouchable as allways but its the less talented lolhoverers and flying straight to AA-hive airjockeys that are in trouble.

As some players have noted and realized terribly - Equal numbers of aircraft will be able to take out an equal number of AA units.

Yes, while it may be harder for you guys to pull off - once you've taken down one MAX and the ones following after .. It becomes a domino effect.

What I've noticed that most aircraft seems to do is - They roll in solo or in smaller groups than the AA we have necessary.
  8. CruelStriker

The last few burster kills on my stat page was a small group of reavers. I was alone. Albeit I had an engineer with me at the time, I had only gotten the second burster a day or so before and had plenty of practice with one burster.
  9. Klondik3

You should do something about your reading comprehension.

I've repeated several times that this is about reducing effective range on both aircraft and ground AA. Also this will benefit liberators more than ESFs because they are such flak sponges. Stop with this 'lolpod' paranoia.
  10. SiosDashcR

Whenever I tend to engage AA targets is by first scouting the area in which needs a bombing run with my Mossy.

After that, I'd fly around (after being hit repeatedly) and repair a safe distance away.

I'd fly further out beyond that to an angle that I haven't approached before and fly almost against the ground.

AA units generally look up at the air to target aircraft (go figure, haha).

Once I'm hovering above, turn on my Nightvision (as Flak can screw up your vision) - and unload direct shots to either the Engineer, if the MAX hadn't noticed me (taking away his supply line) - then going back for the MAX afterwords.

I'm not saying that this is always the most possible - but I have a Burster AA with Extended Mags and I rarely see ESFs going in from different angles than the first without being noticed before they fire.
  11. Klondik3

Air does deserve a buff if you take a look at stats. I think that kind of buff I'm proposing is far less likely to cause unbalance than other suggestions such as outright burster MAX nerf.

PS: Well speaking of other suggestions I really think that adding a layer of clouds would be better option but I can already see people complaining about liberators abusing the cloud protection as invincibility mode.
  12. CruelStriker

Alas the best fliers on Cobalt tend to be TR (mattlock and Lendoria) and the VS. The NC on our server dont seem to be very good at this moment with flying (hope that changes) The fact that you take your time and dont rush in is making me wish there where more of you on Cobalt... :(
  13. SiosDashcR

    But I'm a TR. :c

But that's how I figure also, to pilot.
I'd say on a flying scale of "Newbie", "Intermediate" and "Skilled" - I'd say I'm between Newbie and Intermediate.

I can do somewhat of a successful reverse maneuver amongst other things but not as great as I'd hope to be.
That's what leads to a more cautious game play.

It's the same way, that I feel smaller outfits (no offense to any larger outfits out there) - tend to be more strategic than some of the larger outfits out there.

Lack of numbers means you need to compensate with quality.
  14. Jrv

Nonsense. I don't even fly very often, and a reaver at that, and I do FINE if I actually pay attention and play smart. If a guy like me, who rarely flies, does fine in a reaver, the worst ESF, then what does that say about you guys?

I'm afraid you're bad. There is no getting around it.
  15. CruelStriker

Make it so that if the pilot cannot see below the clouds that the belly gunner could not. That and thats the realm of the ESF. You should be to worried about other air to be able to abuse it.

  16. CruelStriker

Quality > quantity I can assure you :D
  17. Klondik3

I do fine as well. But I do better as infantry/MAX. Granted I'm not a part of organized outfit which does air raids but thats a whole different story of how ground AA forms spontaneously while air raid requires incredible amount of coordination and having sufficient number of pilots who actually know how to fly.
  18. Jrv

They take the exact same amount of coordination, just in a different way

    "Pull Burster Maxes"

    "Pull Reavers/Mossies/Scythes"

    "aircraft NW incoming, focus fire"

"tank on the road, focus fire"

You are grasping at straws, my friend. Time to join an outfit, or get good. One of the two. I know ESFs are fine because all the good ESF pilots have ridiculous K/Ds above 6. The potential is there, proof is in the performance of players who are really good.
  19. TheBillOf3D

Don't learn the game, keep nagging for changes until it suits your limited ability.
