Question on PS2 for the PS4

Some SOE games, like DCUO have clan destroying Region restricted servers.

DCUO PC, you can choose between EU and US

DCUO PS3 is Region restricted.

As the outfit leader of an International Community, this would be a massive deal for me if you restrict. Can you confirm that the game will not be region restricted?

As I have posted before, I am disappointed that there will be no cross platform play. The situation I am in is KEQ have a majority Playstation population and smaller PC community, but the small PC community are not really going to want to switch to the PS4, and having the community split over this really sucks.

I don't see why they should restrict, most console games I've played lets me play with EU'ers. They only region I see them blocking is China, which they already do.

You can't go cross platform. Console fps always have built in auto aim to compensate for the lesser accuracy of controllers. This means 1) console gamers would be constantly "cheating" 2) without the auto-aim getting their *** kicked making console players rage quit...
I am aware that you can connect a keyb + mouse on a console, but the majority of console gamers uses their controller. Restricting ps2 on ps4 for keyb + mouse isn't going to happen ad it would seriously restrict the numbers of copies sold... they are doing it for the money... not for some few people..

A larger reason mhigby quoted for PS2 on PS4 being on separate servers is the time it takes to get patches through QA for the PS4/PSN means they won't be able to patch it as often. So it's either run them separately with slower updates, but still the same as now on PC, or have the PC version held back waiting for PS4 approval. They're opting for keeping the PC updates as now, so PS4 will have to be separate servers.

Wait what? China can't play on the PS2 servers?

There's a Chinese outfit called PLA CN on Briggs that's massive. How do they get around that?
