    The PlanetSide 2 Public Test Server will come down this evening for an update.

    Unstable Warpgates
    A rough iteration of the Unstable Warpgates system shown on-stream (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/222014693) has been added to the Public Test Server.
    • When a continent is first unlocked, it enters an “Unstable” state.
    • An Unstable continent cannot be captured, and has limited regions in play.
    • These disabled regions are considered neutral and uncapturable.
    • With this PTS iteration, Unstable continents will automatically stabilize after two hours.
    • In a later PTS update, we will be stabilizing continents based on populations.
    The purpose behind this system is to increase fight density on off-continents, as well as provide a more engaging place to wait in queue when their faction is overpopulating the main continent.

    Infantry Adjustments
    MG-S1 Jackal (Terran Republic SMG)
    • Suppressed audio now uses the correct rate of fire.
    • BX Adapter icon changed.
    • BX Adapter received an updated tooltip.
    • BX Adapter no longer reduces ammo capacity.
    • BX Adapter reload speed from 2.25sec./2.92sec. to 2sec./2.6sec.
    Dev Note: We decided to keep the BX Adapter a niche attachment while fixing some quality of life issues it created.

    MG-H1 Watchman (Terran Republic LMG)
    • Audio has been removed in anticipation of the upcoming audio pass.
    • Updated weapon description, sorry.
    • No longer uses placeholder Assault Rifle hipfire values.
    • Standing Hipfire from 2 to 2.75
    • Crouching Hipfire from 1.5 to 2.25
    • Crouchwalking Hipfire from 2 to 2.75
    • Walking Hipfire from 2.5 to 3.5
    • Updated Impact Ammo icon.
    MGR-L1 Ballast(New Conglomerate LMG)
    • Audio has been removed in anticipation of the upcoming audio pass.
    • Fixed broken or incorrect optics.
    • Updated animations.
    • Adjusted view model.
    • Standing ADS CoF from 0.3 to 0.1
    • Crouching ADS CoF from 0.3 to 0.1
    • Crouchwalking ADS CoF from 0.3 to 0.2
    • Added an “Ammunition Storage” attachment to the ammo slot.
    • Updated SPRW icon.
    • Renamed MGR-L1 Promise.
    Dev Note: Consider this a working title, as it may still go Live as something else.

    VE-H Maw (Vanu Sovereignty LMG)
    • Audio has been removed in anticipation of the upcoming audio pass.
    • Adjusted reload particle effects.
    • Adjusted reload animations.
    Vehicle Adjustments
    Lightning
    • Removed braking penalty on Racer chassis.
    Dev Note: The previous brake reduction was causing issues with the lateral friction while moving over hills and rough terrain. This change makes the vehicle easier to control all around.


    Player Studio
    Fuzzbuket’s Arbiter Helmet and Armor set (Terran Republic) can now be found in the Depot.

    Bug Fixes and Misc.
    • Removed the wildly inaccurate queue timer from continent queue UI.
    • Removed server population indicators on character creation.
    • Renamed “Logout” to “Characters” on character creation screen.
    • The low battle rank “Join Combat” idle prompt should now appear.
    • You should no longer be able to pull inaccessible vehicles via remote vehicle spawn on Koltyr VR.
    • Modified Koltyr-related tooltips.
    • Bounties have been disabled in VR zones.
    • Fixed a bug where remote clients would see players replay their firing animation after reloading a burst weapon.
    • Wielded knives should no longer break when entering or exiting a vehicle.
    • Kills with damage-over time weapons (like the ANT’s Yellowjacket Mining Laser) should now properly award experience.
    • You should no longer see padlocks over capture points while in an enemy territory that is connected to another enemy territory.
    • Galaxys using the Lockon Jamming Field should now show a different (and currently bugged) mini-map icon.
    • MAX units may now flip vehicle capture points.
    • Bastion fleet carrier received a makeover, and is still a work in progress.
    • Only headshots will now display the headshot hit indicator. Previously, damage above a certain threshold would play this hit indicator.
    Known Issues
    • Solus Nature Annex, on Amerish, still has broken lattice links.
    • Galaxy Lockon Jamming Field FX have hall of mirror visual errors.
