    3. HEAT was already good enough for killing infantry, the advantage of HE is a negligible. Increasing the amount of HE cannons makes no difference to the game. Unless somehow the proportion of AP will reduce.

    I agree though that the reason to use HEAT has vastly go down. There is as much reason to use it now as there was reason to pick HE over HEAT before. Tank guns are slow to shoot and if you don't kill with the first splash or direct hit the enemy will run behind cover most of the time and come back with full health. At best having splash <1000 will scare people away. On the other hand if HEAT were to keep it's useful 1000 splash and HE is to be meaningful then HE would have to be buffed which most people would be again.

    So in short:
    * Old HE advantage over HEAT is negligible. Some people just have the delusion that HE is meaningful.
    * If HEAT is to have meaningful splash then it must be 1000.
    * If HE is to be a meaningful weapon then it has to been better than it's old state. People don't want that.
    * Conclusion, HEAT and HE can never have a good relationship.

    SOE- you just have no idea of balancing tanks, as you did with Harasser, as you did once with LIB, ZOE and other things. Keep butchering your game, guess you like that.

    If people refuse in combined arms game to pull counters for their counters (like pull AV air, C4 LA, AP tank for HE tank which is Infantry counter)- and what you do is nerf the AI counter so people do not have to bother to even pull anthing against it- then your game failed in its core concept, since you started cathering the behaviour of brainless infantry player who refuses to be killed by something.

    Wonder what you will tell new players (if they wll be any) who will come to forum and ask why his stock tank cant kill infantry with HEAT cannon.

    SOE answer:

    "What we want tanks to be is big cert cake, unable to kill OHK infantry since it is only a tank, and we want to encourage the combine arms aspect of game by making everybody playing infantry! The team agreed that the previous state of tanks was forcing people to pull counters to destroy AI tank which was cousing overheating of averge players brain. Since it was against our policy of combined arms, we want tanks to stick to killing tanks, infantry to killing infantry and air doing everything since we are afraid of pilots raging. And so all those forces do not have to combine with each other- means that more combined arms will be introduced. Higby agreed that tanks should not kill infantry since they are only tanks so we are thinkig about removing OHK ability from AP cannon, becasue some tanks still try to kill infantry despite our balancing effort".

    "So what is purpose of tanks in this game?" asks new player

    "The team agreed that there is no purpouse for tanks in this game, so we want to nerf them so they won't be any more of them in game. We think it will help infantry gameplay and make people grind cert longer. Which of course means more combined arms gameplay!"

    Yea, well, that is how I see it right now.

    Those tank cannons nerfs are just stupid, not needed and will only kill your game more.

    So where are the infantry AV nerfs Higby mentioned? They better be game changingly significant with all these tank nerfs,it's already ridiculous that infantry has any method to instagib vehicles considering the funky terrain and mostly clunky vehicles. I do think the painfield extension was a good idea BUT a better idea would be just to get people out of the spawn rooms by FORCE. Now people will still camp in their invincibility box and their will be even more exploits since now the defenders can wreck vehicles from a distance while still within the painfield. The problem is not the attackers fault it is the defenders,the attackers are just doing their job the defenders are not. People complain that they can't push out,well it takes more than one push while you're surrounded it takes a constant stream of defenders in a neverending rush(que painfields and spawn room time limits for defenders) . That's what would make the game work properly,not punishing the attackers. Overall I think this game will ultimately only get truly "fixed" on the PS4,it was a mistake debuting the game on the platform with the least testosterone in the gaming community(PC). Instead of constant whines and nerfs we need more aggression and to encourage work ethic. Answer: PS4.

    Given that MAX units used to cost 100 resources, could instant action (back when drop pods were steerable and more varied) and deploy at any hotspot spawn, and only a handful of players carried decimators/AV grenades/concs - MAX units have actually taken a hell of a beating since with the nerf stick.

    It's about time MAX specialists were given some attention.

    Sure you CAN spawn a new MAX right away if you have the resources, but it sure as hell is expensive for the average player with pooled resources - and the fact that if you spawn one, it freezes the resource portion you used to spawn it, not allowing it to refill as long as your vehicle/MAX is functioning.

    It should have a dramatic effect on organised outfit play and server smashes.

    There is no point fixing repair tools on tanks now because we build up new resources so fast that who cares about there tank since they can pull a new one like instantly,
    plus i prefer the current resource syutem on live servers as we can stack up stuff and people actually care about tanks

    I don't think you realize what is actually happening,you lose those resources until your tank is no longer functioning. Say you pull a tank for 450 nanites well you CAN'T accrue those nanites while the tank is active so basically you have to focus on one playstyle which sucks. Wanna use a vehicle or MAX because you're outnumbered right now too bad you used too many grenades a minute ago wait 5 minutes to get your nanites back,oh whoops the enemy already capped the base. It's gonna be great.

    This is so wrong. HE is underpowered right now and gets nerfed.
    I expected inner/outer blast radius to become 2/10 m with 2,5 s reload speed.

    Don't worry man. They totally know what they are doing and are actively listening to feedback......... Now don't mind me I'll be laughing in the corner.

    Expect 10% AV damage nerfs 4-5 months from now. That's probably what they would consider balanced. If we get anything at all. Which is unlikely.

    so it continues, the pointless nerfing of tanks because infantry is unable or not willing to find proper cover to survive and instead decide to stand in the open

    shoutouts to all tankers out there, across all factions! we are all together in this mess. let's show the devs that this is the wrong way to address the 'farming' issue

    Yeah..... soon infantry will be able to take 6 direct AP tank round shots with flak armor and then walk threw 10 rockets.

    there are some great suggestions out there that offer a solid alternative to the usual "tank cannon nerf" approach.

    for instance, vehicle weapons and vehicle/infantry explosives in general should give way less xp/certs when killing infantry. that way, the weapons will keep their effectiveness/lethality but 'farming' will be less rewarding

    what the devs try to do right now is a sledgehammer way of making things simply weaker, in this case, tank cannons. instead, they need to address the incentive problem that 'infantry farms' offer to vehicle operators: a low-risk situation of racking up certs. this needs to be tackled, because even with weaker tank cannons people will still try harder to farm spawnrooms

    you still gain resources, but slower when you have a vehicle or max being used.

    You can still instagib infantry if you direct hit the person.
    Besides using splash to kill people was nooby, and required very little skill.

    Also if you think we'll see more maxes, then I doubt that. Since if you were trying to kill maxes via splash damage then you were doing something wrong.

    Maybe if you get enough art work done for each faction you could have the load screen be specific to the faction of the character being played. Ever consider player submitted screen shots as art for load screens?

    There's barely enough stuff to hack anymore - it would take a LONG time to get a hacking ribbon unless the number is relatively low. Most base defences are destroyed by the forced zergs.

    Funny fact is- we are still against those tank changes here, we are still posting feedback, we are still making valid points, we are still making arguments, explaining why those changes are stupid....

    But as always, SOE doesn't give a **** about us and dare to post the following:

    "We did, and we factored it in (feedback). I've said before, we need to stop thinking of things as final and fighting tooth and nail to stop them going live. Nothing we do can't be reversed/modified. We can't balance in a vacuum, we need thousands of players to see the results."

    Yes, we are against it and don't want it on live. So you igore it becasue "we need to stop thinking of things as final". Well, thats what PTS is for. Live means final. And don't even say that you would ever consdier reverting them (nerfs) fully! You just want to nerf tanks no matter what! After that you will just tweak this and that and say again "see? We listen to your feedback! It wasn't final change!"

    And thousands of players?!!!! HAHAHAA

    Where the hell do you have those THOUSANDS OF PLAYERS?? And you expect all of them running tanks, right?

    SOE- please, cut the crap. You just want to force those nerfs to cathering infantry noobs and you do not care about our feedback.

    what you say is "we care, and since you are against this changes in your feedback, we will force them on live anyway to see what is your feedback!" You LOGIC- is sick.....
