[PSA] How to survive server mergers

I know I don't want to merge with another server. Jaeger is just fine the way it is but that's not up to me, it's up to SOE. I was an outfit leader in PS1 and have been leading guilds in various games ever since. Server mergers are a fact of life in MMO gaming. There is no point in resisting, it is going to happen. So how do we survive the process as outfits and factions.

A few tips:

• Put your suspicions and distrust of the outfits and players from the other server aside. They are in the same boat we are.
• Don't assume that things will continue just as before and that everyone from the other server will just fall in line with the way we like to do things.
• Be open minded to new ideas, strategies and alliances.
• Put the past behind you. Don't bring your old drama, conflicts and grudges with you from the previous server.

Lets all get a fresh start on the new Waterson. As leader of one of the largest outfits on Jaeger I extend my hand of friendship to the outfit leaders on Waterson, from the NC, Vanu and TR. Lets have fun, friendly competition and always remember that when the fight ends, we are still part of the same community and be friends.

Good point about community! Since this game offers the ability to talk to the enemy I always /tell the guy that killed me in a new way or outplayed me with a Nice Shot or Good Job. I even tease some of the snipers when they get on top of the spire and start killing down on the pads with " do you live up there ?" I try to have fun with it and discorage people being hateful.
