only because i had to

TF2 can do that because its theme is goofy cartoonish violence. Planetside 2 has always been confused about what the hell it is supposed to be. Gun stats, Cone of fire, bullet drop, goofy cosmetics, half serious voice packs, and lack of overall tone make the game seem very weird and gives off mixed feelings while playing. Games tend to feel good when art direction and theme are pushed to their limit.

Is that the TF2 pre-alpha? because that's my impression of what some pre-alphas look like before they get polished.

Just release it, the game is already a joke. I'm just waiting a similar game with serious art design and design philosophy to come out using PS2's failings as a cautionary tale.
