Proximity Chat Generals

To all the people who think its their duty to tell others how to play in proximity chat:

Hey <insert swear here>, no one put you in charge of how I, or anyone else plays. If you don't like it, redeploy to somewhere else or learn to deal with it. You have no right to try to impose what you think others should do on them. If someone wants to pull a flash and drive in circles in the warpgate, that's not your call. If they want to sit in the spawn room and shoot at <insert term for noob> players who stand right outside the spawn room, deal with it.

I really don't get where these 'people' think its ok to sit in the spawn room, and whine about how others are sitting in the spawn room. What is the 'right' thing to do is irrelevant.... you don't get to tell other people how to play. Now, if you are running a squad/platoon bark orders... if they don't obey, kick them. Prox. chat isn't a place where you get to command people.

One of the many reasons I have prox chat on mute.

Numpad Enter mutes the current person talking.

    Use it, love it.

Yes good point. I did as well but turned it back on a while ago for some reason I can't remember... think I'll turn it back off. I made the glorious mistake of telling this guy 'you aren't the boss of me'... give ya one guess what he did next.

this is why i usually run lone wolf. unless its a well put together and skilled squad i typically avoid them. and if ppl wanna yell at me in Prox i usually ignore, or TK them. "woops"

Eh, I keep prox on if I need to tell someone not to tap out as a medic, or stuff like that. It's a bit easier than stopping and typing in the middle of a firefight. And truth be told, I haven't run into prox generals in a mini forever. That being said, I think players going over prox to be like "we're gonna do a max crash" or "we're gonna make a push, push with us guys" is actually ok, it actually promotes teamwork. I will admit though, when you have that genius who's like "blah blah do this, why are you so bad, blah blah spawnroom" those guys I just tune out. If they get too close to me, or point a weapon at me, I rail them. Otherwise I just ignore them.

The only response one needs against people shouting orders in proxy is that if they feel like they're qualified to lead and want others to follow, they should simply start a squad and find people willing to follow, or be quiet.

That said, there is a difference between someone constantly barking orders over proxy at anyone and everyone, and someone who is already leading a squad and trying to encourage others to take advantage of the actions of his squad. Like "Hey we're going to MAX crash in 10 seconds, get ready!" is an invitation to join in the MAXes or follow behind and reap the benefits of the chaos that will be caused from the crash.

Seen this a lot lately, either in proxy voice chat or region/orders chat, people shouting stuff like 'somebody take out the sundy' or 'somebody spawn AA' or 'somebody pull a medic'.

Funny how they seem to know what's needed but are seemingly incapable of doing it themselves so feel they can just bark orders at others.

The only time I used Prox chat is when I'm either warning someone of an incoming attack. Or when it's only me and some random who's unaware of there being a MAX around the corner, I usually suggest he falls back to avoid being killed.

Prox chat is good if used correctly. But it's not really meant to bash your fellow troops because they're not playing how you want them to play. I've ran into a few bad apples like that.

That would almost be as bad, as going on the forums and tell people that they aren't allowed to suggest actions in proxi chat... Oh :p

My favourite is people screaming that everyone should get out of the spawnroom and retake the base, confused as to why nobody wants to rush out.
When there is 15 seconds left on the timer and 85%+ enemies camping the exits.
