    Tank Changes
    • Tank primary turrets are now stabilized. (Their elevation will not move with chassis elevation changes, unless it hits the upper or lower constraint)
    • Easier to hit targets while moving, by that making it easier to dodge. Stealth nerf for the deployed P.
    • Tank reverse speed and acceleration is now identical to the tanks forward speed and acceleration.
      • Combat Chassis no longer improves reverse speed
      • Racer Chassis applies to forward and reverse evenly
      • Buffed backwards speed and acceleration to avoid shots, stealth nerf for the deployed P.
    • Vanguard acceleration is being brought closer to the other tanks.
      • It is still the slowest tank; it was just too slow.
    • Buffed forward speed to close the distance between tanks, stealth nerf for the deployed P.
    • Effective ranges of most anti-tank tank weaponry is being reduced.
      • Gravity on all primary cannon tank shells is being increased from 4 to 5
      • Harder to hit targets on long range, stealth nerf for the deployed P.
      • The 25 meter per second projectile speed scaling between tank cannons is being reduced to 15. High explosive tank rounds will also now have projectile speed change between factions.
        • Lightning / Magrider HE projectile speed is being reduced from 175 to 170
        • Prowler HE projectile speed is being increased from 175 to 185
        • Vanguard HE projectile speed is being increased from 175 to 200
        • Lightning / Magrider AP projectile speed is being reduced from 225 to 215
        • Prowler HEAT projectile speed is being reduced from 225 to 215
        • Prowler AP projectile speed is being reduced from 250 to 230
        • The lower total amount of speed leads to a reduced effectivness of the deploy mode due to it's percentage based buff of bullet velocity. Stealth nerf for the deployed P.
        • Vanguard HEAT projectile speed is being reduced from 250 to 230
        • Vanguard AP projectile speed is being reduced from 275 to 245
      • E540 Halberd
        • Gravity increased from 3 to 5
        • Nerfing the only viable long range AV option for the prowler further stealth nerf the deployed P.
    Thank you SOE!
Can I have my certpoints for the deploy mode back?

    No point in complaining.

    You're absolutely correct.

It will be much harder to hit from long-range, putting the stationary Prowler at a huge disadvantage against the other MBTs that can shoot while moving. Previously, only the Magrider was able to move while shooting reliably. This relationship was okay because the Magrider's long-range effectiveness was on the lower end while the Prowler's was at the high end.

After these changes, everyone will be on the lower end. Meaning, hitting moving targets will be significantly more difficult while a stationary target will still be fairly easy to hit with practice.

The Vanguard will end up coming out on top after all of this, but I still don't like these changes besides the stabilization. If anything, MBT velocities should be increased.

Your name already speaks for itself
Also I don't want to hate a specific faction here, but we all know close range engagements will favor the NC.

Exactly my thoughts. I like the stabilizing of turrets too! (Gosh I hade when my turrets bumps all across the screen while driving) but all the other stuff lead in the wrong direction...

What I mean by no point is by that they got to work on hossin and locking which requires lot of resources and time. They don't have the time for this boost for Prowlers.
  7. Strikejk

It's not about a "boost" for Prowlers it is about preventing a upcomming nerf they will do without any reason. And yes we all want Hossin trust me.

Atleast the vulcan will be usefull again. Lately I saw nobody above BR 50 using it anymore. (We all know why.)

If its about preventing something that SOE will actually do then yes they will possibly listen because it means more resources can be put on that hossin and money that was supposed to be invested in the prowler nerf can be saved.
  9. Kulantan

Equally the non-deployed Prowler is the fastest MBT and the new shorter range is going to help the Vulcan.

Examples to fix the problem. I know all of them together are probably overpowered but this is nothing more then a wildly guess how to prevent a sealth nerf made by this patch. Don't take the green parts too serious please.
  11. Strikejk

Besides the fact that the vulcan is nowadays completly useless, the benefit also applies to the NC AV weaponry aswell! Without screwing up their ability completly!

How would you like it if this patch would reduce the vanguard shield by 50% ?
But atleast your secondary AV weapon will be stronger. Tell me!

Edit: Also our "advantage" of the fastes MBT in game will be reduced with that patch too.
  12. Kulantan

How does reducing the engagement range benefit the Enforcer? Hint: NC ESAV isn't benefiting from the reduced engagement range because it is a long range weapon which is why they are bringing its range down with the rest of the long range weapons.

We already had that patch and our AV weapons didn't get any stronger.

Yes, because it will be more of a factor. The amount of advantage you get out of it will remain high even if the amount of difference is reduced. Leaving the Vanguard with its current acceleration would have been a huge disadvantage to it in the predicted new meta.

If I worked there I would be yelling at the person who came up with this.
  14. Ronin Oni

Deploy increases velocity and reduces drop a fair bit, and will easily swallow the minor nerf baseline is getting.

Deploy also still gives the Prowler 40% more damage output... that's hardly something to sneeze at.

What this update does is let Prowlers finally use of their other advantage, speed...

Vanguards are getting the most love this update I think, but Prowlers will love it too.
  15. Alarox

All of the Prowler users I've talked to so far haven't been optimistic. Even people like Sidi1 (#2 AP user). I agree with them entirely.

Yes Prowlers will still have their huge velocities compared to the other weapons. However, there's something you're not considering. It isn't just about the difference between the velocities. It is also about the bare minimum velocity/drop you need to be reliable at X distance against a moving target.

After this update, I'll be happy to see anchored Prowlers even at range. Why? Easy kills. Why? Because I'll be able to strafe at 60KPH back and forth while maintaining 100% accuracy while they're struggling to even hit me once. For Magriders, they'll be more effective against them as well (if they have the accuracy to hit after the update).

I bet you aren't using deploy that much, or hardly use the prowler at all. Otherwise you would know that the reload speed increase doesn't directly increase your dps in the real game. I'll try to explain it very simple.
The futher your target is away the lower your dps will be, the more the target is moving the lower your dps will be, the less experienced your are with a prowler the lower your dps will be. (Considered you are hitting with every shot)
Why? Simple! You only reload after you empty both of your barrels but the barrels kick up after each shot. So in every case mentioned above you need more time to re-aim after each shot, which cuts the reload benefit by alot. Also with maxed out deploy & reload speed you reload that quickly that you can hardly re-aim in time before the reload is finished, so there also is lost time. This theoretically super-dps you may get hardly ever kicks in, except in a close range engagement. Yea, close range with deploy - RIP.
First you talk about the deploy mode and now you tell us that the prowler can use his speed now? You do know the Prowler can't move while deployed, do you ?

Just buff Anchor mode then. Make it give a velocity buff that brings cannon speed back to pre-nerf levels, and maybe even further increase the ROF and reload speed bonus.

Or, make it completely remove cannon recoil so that when active, the Prowler become more accurate.
  18. Chubrokoli

    • Lightning / Magrider HE projectile speed is being reduced from 175 to 170
    • Lightning / Magrider AP projectile speed is being reduced from 225 to 215
    • Prowler HEAT projectile speed is being reduced from 225 to 215
    • Prowler AP projectile speed is being reduced from 250 to 230
    • Gravity on all primary cannon tank shells is being increased from 4 to 5
    • Vanguard HEAT projectile speed is being reduced from 250 to 230
    • Vanguard AP projectile speed is being reduced from 275 to 245
WTF isnt it already hard enough to lead at high range?
    Magrider projectile speed even slower????

    • It is still the slowest tank; it was just too slow.
Lol and whats about the magrider???

Good job... how about 100m/s projectile speed nerf? so we dont need to use tanks anymore
(In Arma we have hardly any drop + extreme high speed, in addition the projectile speed gets even worse than in ww2)
  19. Xebov

I dont think that the Anchor mode will become useless. The current problem with Prowlers is that they are the fastest tanks, have the best DPS on primary and secondary AV and have the Anchor mode to increase RoF and Projectile Velocity.

The Anchor mode together with current live Projectile Speed and gravity values enables the Prowler to anchor at huge ranges and simply kill everything, this is possible due to the low drop that comes with its high Projectile Speed. With this changes the Anchor mode will switch from an "use it every time" ability to a tactical ability. The Question will be "can i use the ability in the current situation to get an advantage?". Prowlers can no longer simply Anchor and know that it will be an advantage, they will need to use the otehr Prowler traits to move around and anchor if possible, destroy something and move again, or simply scirmish from time to time.
  20. Frosty The Pyro

a notable increase in DPS will never be useless.
