Prowler accuracy changes

Am I really the only person noticing this? The prowler is now trying to compensate for the second shot which ruins it. Why did you change this SOE? It's absolutely awful at range when I try to compensate for the recoil by myself.

    Please revert it back.

I'm curious on what you mean, because it was something I didn't notice at all. Could you get a video of it please, or if someone else could post one, that would be fantastic.

Is this similar to what they did to the AP turret I noticed was introduced with the 20-May patch?

The AP when fired now bobs up and down like a rubber band. It's not the normal movement of the turret showing that it fired, it goes from horizontal - a straight line with the horizon - to the turret aiming at the sky then bounces down again. It's animation overkill and a huge eye strain.

I noticed it immediately after the patch in my vanguard, the recoil animation is much greater, once the tank died i logged off, don't think i'm going back unless they really start fixing tanks and stop ******* them over.

I al noticed that. Well good that my Vanguard has one-shot cannon so it does not matter as 3,5 sec reload is enough time to aim again.

Magies are not touched by it. Not even one change on my Magrider.

But for prowlers- well, maybe no more easy mode spam in anchor mode. At least not so easy.

Yeah... the animation is just messed up. Please revert it back SOE. I'm trying to compensate for the recoil/animation by MYSELF, but it's doing it for me in a very terrible way. Leave it as it was before (only going up). The Prowler is pretty much useless at range now because of this thing. Minimal movements ruin all accuracy.
  7. minhalexus

I didnt notice much of a change.
  8. Arkha3

Don't notice a change at all. All shots stay on target so far.

While we're at it, why not make shots come from the barrels again?

Like it was a year ago.

    That would be nice.
  10. IamnotAmazing

because you could stick a zepher through the roof of a biolab, and certain weapon were offset which upset people that can't compensate because they're too dumb
  11. Flag

Then fix the biolab design so you can't.
The 'from camera' change was a lazy fix. It works, but it has it's problems.
  12. IamnotAmazing

well that was their fix, though I agree it's quite lazy
  13. Flag

No, the shell origin from the camera came into the game before they fixed the BioLabs issue.
The from-camera was a fix to the complaints about how some guns were off-set, giving people a hard time with aiming (notably the Raver and Prowler made people complain, although for whatever reason liberator and magrider pilots were mostly quiet about their problems).

Most of all, I dislike how the visual projectile doesn't really correspond to the actual projectile, which makes skill-shots harder thanks to no reliable visual feedback. Which is a bigger problem than dealing with something that's just off-set.
  14. Frozen-K

On the note of the shells from camera: Prowler drivers had to aim slightly to the right of their target to offset the really-left turret. Close range it wasn't a huge thing, long range it was more noticeable. Rather than redesign the prowler (and the other vehicles), they just went with that.

    Lazy, but it works.

    I remember.

But I'd rather they did a proper fix than a lazy one.
  16. Frozen-K

I agree, but I'm selfish in the sense that it would've made the prowler look less awkward. I still think the left centered turret looks terrible.

Everybody thinks it looks terrible, but changing that would make TRay all grumpy like he has sand in his ******.

    Mm.

Did you know that the magrider had almost as much of a benefit from this change as the prowler, although in a different way?
With the change the magrider could utilize cover in ways it flat out couldn't before, thanks to the -very- low-mounted gun placement not mattering anymore.
However, I would give that up for the ability to look on the shot tracers and have it be the correct one, rather than "somewhere" in the vicinity of the damaging (and invisible) projectile.
  19. Frozen-K

It affected all the tanks in that way, there are a few spots where I can hull down in a vanguard and prowler and have my cannon be the only thing poking out from cover if you're at the same level as my tank. It basically just opened up a new can of worms. Though it did fix the complaints most reavers pilots and prowler drivers had. But, still, lazy. Can't say that enough unfortunately.

And yes, I'd really, really like them to fix the render distance. Engineer projectiles are STILL invisible to me.

Yes it did, but for the Mag it had some serious implications when fighting on hills, in that you generally had to expose your entire tank to be able to get the shot go clear of the ground in front of you, whilst the other tanks could at least keep parts of their hulls hidden. ;)
That the saron was the de facto main gun was actually partially because of this, as you could still fire it even if the hull cannon couldn't.
