Proof this game is dead, no hiding it anymore

the game is "dead" when i can't find a fight. the server counter must be bugged or something
  2. LanceHavenbay

Let me guess. You logged on when nearly everyone is alseep. For myself on the west coast, this is around 3-5am.

Please make sure not to post silly conspiracy theorys when you have nothing to back yourself up but a photo of low pop hours.

Why does that list have a bunch of Australian servers, with one of them, Saerro showing low? There is only one Australian server that you are able to play on and that is Briggs.

I don't think that list is accurate.
  4. PharmD

Check the game right now. It is prime-time for the East coast yet every server is on low.
  5. QuantumMechanic

It's not just the Aussie servers, all regions have "extra" servers like that. They were all on standby since release, in case more were needed. I think they just keep them maintained like the rest of the servers, but nobody has ever had the option to log in and create a character on one. Consider them "standby" servers. They never ever get higher than "low" population.

    http://www.soe.com/status/

I counted 29 servers from that list not including ones that said missing. Yet in-game there are only 14 servers.

I do not think that list is accurate. The in-game one has every server on low even though it's prime time for many of them right now.

The game has been dying for at least a month now.

The sole reason that I haven't logged in for at least 3-4+ weeks is because my server's population (Jaeger, U.S. East) is so damned low. Even when it's listed at Medium (like it is now) it just feels empty. And those who pay and subscribe to the game don't even get the "first in line for queues" bonus because there are no queues.

And in the upcoming patch, rather than doing the right thing and merging some of the servers, they're going to potentially make a bad situation worse by encouraging players to obtain/purchase tokens so that they may potentially transfer their character to a more populated server. I sense that empty servers will become emptier and most players will flock to one or two very specific servers, meaning that if you aren't already on those servers, you'll have to either make the switch or play cat-and-mouse with fewer than a handful of players at every base on every continent.
  8. QuantumMechanic

I think the opposite is true. At least at soe.com/status you can see the populations change from low to medium and back as the day progresses.

Does the in-game one ever change throughout the day? I don't have a spare character slot, so I can't check.

This really is getting quite laughable for those of us who have followed the entire conversation from the start. It's getting to the point where almost every other page somebody posts this nonsense.

    Look again at the image.

    Look harder.

    Bottom right.

Roughly where, say, you might find your system clock.

    Oh, what's that?

Doesn't look like 3-5am to me.

    I'm guessing you aren't a police detective?

Not as far as I can tell. At least for the last 48 hours every server has been on low during prime-time. But I guess you're right, the status one would seem to be accurate if it's changing back and forth throughout the day.
  11. LanceHavenbay

    Max characters at the moment.
Although I will not pursue this much longer, I would like to add something.

Many of my friends are not from the West Coast. Some are from Japan, other from Canada of Britian. They play on my West Coast server so that they can play with me. We log on at the same times so that we may play together.

A regions expected prime time does not correlate to the servers actually prime time. As West, East and Middle Earth may log on all during the same hours.

Playing with your friends is far more important to most people than logging on while their neighbors are awake.

If you really want to take a shot out claiming the game is dead:
Grab Excel or another graph program... or some paper. Chart each hour of every day. For every server. Take note of population balances and when the server physically peaks. (Hard to do without being the server host.)

Then take note of as many players as you can. Listing what time zone that player is from, compared to where they play.
  12. LanceHavenbay

Sorry kid. I forgot that all clocks are the same. That what you said is totally invalid and a lackluster troll attempt. Never once did I say his time was 3-5am. Please pay closer attention.
  13. Chubzdoomer

You did accuse him of taking the screenshot when "everyone was asleep" and logging in at "low pop hours." 7:30 isn't even late in the evening. If there aren't many people playing at 7:30 -- when kids are home from school and most adults are home from work -- then there's obviously a low-population problem regardless of the time of day.
  14. Kryptik 617

Yeah all the populated servers are at medium so idk what your point is.

You haven't read this thread have you. Contribute when you have. The image was taken 3 minutes before it was uploaded. It was 19.26 in the US where the poster originated and 00.26 in the UK. Both the image time and the timestamp for the post tally (with the 3 minute variance required to make the post).

What exactly does "I forgot that all clocks are the same" even mean? What exactly are you trying so badly to infer? Prime time tends to be roughly the same in each region LOCAL TIME but of course to people outside that region the time will be different. If the image showed 00.26 but was posted at 19.26 I could almost get what you think you are saying but as it is your comment makes no sense.

19.30 local time in any region should not be quiet even if it is the middle of the night SOMEWHERE ELSE.
It was 19.26 on the East Coast and the image shows East Coast servers. What exactly is the point you are trying to make.

"Let me guess. You logged on when nearly everyone is alseep. For myself on the west coast, this is around 3-5am."

It seems, if you look at the evidence at hand, that you guessed wrong. But you'd have known that if you actually read the thread instead of just the OP and then jumping to the end to add your startling conclusion, which, far from being original, has actually been suggested and shown to be wrong on nearly every other page in this discussion.

Attempting to correct you is considered trolling? Explains a lot.

I've been playing other games... PS2 just isn't fun anymore.

NC on Watterson... I'm either ghost capping or being rolled by TR's overwhelming population advantage... prime time they can dominate two continents... sometimes all three.

Luck to those sticking it out...
  17. fish998

Plenty of people on Woodman and Miller tonight. Not enough to fill 3 continents, but everyone was on Indar anyway. Haven't really noticed a drop over the last month.
  18. St0mpy

if anyones dying die do it elsewhere pls, im still having fun playing

How long will they lie to the shareholders and refuse server merges because it's a buzzphrase meaning failing game?

All the right moves were made.
