This game is dx9 I think

And I'm not saying exactly the same, but rather on a similar level of visibility.
  2. qwertyqwerty

100% All ppl who said that its good are plays by infiltrator)))
Lets do new any stupid things for example for audio settings
Low settings its not cheats or programm. Its option. On ALL settings users must be have SAME balance.

We are all good and best guys, that read updates and know this game,

    BUT SOE
What will be do newbie player? Why he will be must die only because he dont know that Standart video game option will be destroy his game? Why he must take negative without reason?
I think that its not fair to other players.

So then it's some sort of alpha blending, whichever. It's still something that makes demands on the GPU.

So now we're back to the whole idea of "who is inconvenienced by this."

    A) Leave it pre-GU13 and low graphics users can still be happy and "Pros" can still exploit a graphical setting to negate an entire class' featured ability.

    B) Make a change to it, like they have, to restore its effectiveness in normal situations, remove the exploitable nature of it...make the class more relevant again...possibly to fix it in the future for low end users.
  4. P4NJ

Or just put it in between what it's now nd what it was before. No need to put it off. Just increase opacity to 30% what it was before.
  5. Tradewind

Ok clearly we have a language barrier issue or something, because either you're not actually reading what I'm writing or you're not understanding it...

Changing "the opacity" is irrelevant if the people can't even fully utilize that feature to begin with because their hardware doesn't meet the requirements.

I did build it myself lol I used student loan and grant money for it so I went all out it cost just under two grand. My car on the other hand is a 2005 chevy cavalier but I get a great deal on it and got it for $1500 with 80k miles on it.
  7. Zerran

Ahh, I see. In that case nice going on the car. :D
  8. ZoeAlleyne

first post was mostly satire, mostly. Love buying cars from family...though I miss my old fox body ford :(
  9. Rhapsody

Infiltrators cant shoot while cloaked... so their not as 'screwed' as you might think.

If anything, this is a 'exploit-fix' as alot of people were running the game on low settings intentionally for no other reason than so that they COULD see infiltrators running around like neon-signs.
  10. DeadliestMoon

I know this, but I'm speak for the people who legitimately cant run it on medium, like myself.

Yea, wasn't saying this was a 'perfect-fix', but its a step in the right direction at least.

Though to be honest (and this is not directed at you specifically!). People who wish to play the 'modern/newest' PC games, DO need to realize that in order to do so, they HAVE to upgrade their computers from time to time. Your 8 year old video card, and 12 year old CPU simply will not cut it. Its just like a car. You may have a classic 1850's roadster, but if you put it up against a 2013 'vette, it'll be unable to 'run with it'. Just like a 12 year old computer will not be able to 'run with' newer, high-grafix, games.

Developers can only 'backwards-code' their games so much when it comes to computer requirements before the code for the game itself starts to break down. At some point they will simply have to start putting on the minimum-requirements "anything beyond X date will not work".

This thread should not even exist because low settings should have never had the "caspar" effect on infiltrators to begin with.

If you have to run the game on low settings, tough luck. You don't get to see cloakers at all.

    Toodles.

Yeah it is time I bought a newer laptop, this one I bought from Best Buy 2 and a half years ago isn't going to cut it.
  14. Orphen223

I noticed that to, but they only seem invisible when they are standing still when they start running I can see them just fine.
  15. commandoFi

Is it just me, or was it just like this about 6 months ago, and people complained that they were too invisible?
  16. Cougarbrit

For me they're invisible while moving too. A couple of times last night I was in CQC against smg infils, I get a burst on him, he runs behind shield, I camp his likely exit, I hear him cloak nearby, where I expected him to be, next thing I know he's behind me and I'm dead. The only possible way he could have gotten around me like that would've been a 60 second round trip, which would've tipped me off to move position.
  17. Cougarbrit

Yeah, I think a few GUs ago they were invisible on Low settings. Maybe SOE is going to rotating infils being OP against lower-end PC users and UP against lower-end PC users as it turns out their low-graphics options doesn't support their cloaking mechanic like they hoped it would.
  18. ih8Darian2

I can confirm what Cougarbrit just said, it's near impossible to see infiltrators now. Even worse so if it's at night and/or far away

I find it interesting that the developers actually programmed the infiltrator cloak to increase transparency while stationary. So even though in these screenshots it looks like the infiltrators are completely invisible, it is because no movement is occurring and the aforementioned process has taken effect.

This is just to clarify to people unfamiliar with cloak that they are not this transparent while MOVING, they are less so. Since some people seem to be thinking that infiltrators are always this transparent while cloaked.

I'm going to do some testing tonight with a friend and see if perhaps the increased transparency is unintentionally carrying over to the running transparency as well.

Most people are aware of this, and if it's not too much to ask, could you take a video?
Various factors are limiting me of taking a video
