[Poll]After the hitbox....

Session KDR of .75-1.2 spiked up to 2.2-2.8* after thursday's hitbox exploit removal patch.

I'd say the difference is Night and Day.

I think this is one of the first times I've ever agreed with you on something... yeah, I think a lot of it is just confirmation bias or a placebo effect. Maybe people are playing better because they're playing more confidently since they're less scared of being chain headshot or something.

Admittedly, I haven't really played all too much since the hitbox glitch was fixed (I got a little burnt out after having played planetside so damn much), but when I have, I haven't really noticed much of any changes. Maybe it's just a server thing and there were more hackers on the other servers (Connery and the asian influx of players, miller/cobalt taking in all those werner players as well come to mind), but on emerald I don't really see anything out of the usual.

It would be very interesting to know what people would have said about their performance over the past week or so if they didn't know a cheat had been patched out. Personally, I haven't seen much difference. If anything, I've seen more cheaters on Connery (there was a guy chaining headshots at long range with a TR Burster MAX, for instance), but I wouldn't assume that had anything to do with the hitbox patch.

any possibilty the hitbox thing was impacting the servers and now that theyre not things are running better for everyone?

Nope, it was just a client modification that should have no effect on servers.

I'm usually pretty to believe there's a hack or exploit going on unless its pretty damn blatant. I usually attribute hackusations with some millennial getting bested and p-ssing and moaning about it. With that being said.. my personal performance has been steadily declining the last two months for reasons I couldn't explain.

The coincidence of this exploit/hack is.. well convenient to say the least. But even when I heard the fix was coming soon I didn't believe it would be -that- big of a deal. I mean the amount of high BR people putting their accounts on the line for an edge is low right? Yeah. that's apparently putting too much faith in humanity.

comes back 3 times and i headshot him each time.

4th time he Watches me drop a guy right in front of him , gets on terminal anyway..

Even if individuals were occasionally messing around in PS2, as the Oracle tracks data from thousands of players constantly such small discrepancies would hardly show up at all.

The Oracle and other forms of game-wide statistics paint the clearest picture of what's going on. By definition it has the best possible sample size.

You're swinging at ghosts, dude. You're the crazy guy on the corner yelling and pointing your grubby fingers at people who likely don't deserve your vitriol. Maybe if you hit what you shot at and stopped worrying about the boogey man headshotting you and started thinking clearly about what you need to do to play better, maybe you'll get 4-5x better.

Blaming people for stuff you don't have 100% proof of is just making excuses.

The hitbox exploit is generally only going to apply to pure infantry combat. Overall KDR is going to be harder to find using the Oracle alone, since it cannot provide specifics.

Sounds like you were a hitbox exploiter who's salty that his crutch finally got balanced out.

I'm literally ripping people apart right now compared to a week ago. I didn't change my class, my loadout, nor my tactics (other than the usual week to week day to day meta).

Good for you, then. I mean, honestly. My personal experience has not changed. People are just as easy to kill as before. So, if one person's experienced has changed, and the other one hasn't, who's to say?

My personal performance dips after a few weeks because of a shoulder injury. After a bit of play, my focus starts to wane because of pain. Physically and mentally I'm not the same. Maybe you're getting over some mental block. Maybe you figured something out.

Thinking people are cheating is going to do nothing for you. Except give yourself an excuse when you die.

I didn't think anyone was cheating. Not before, and not exactly after hearing about the fix.

It was the RESULTS that I was finding. I even told the people I play with the day before that we probably wouldn't see anything. I was wrong. Everyone saw improvements. You can believe what you want. But when players I've been playing with in PS2 for the last 3 years (some gaming with for over 25 years, the rest at least 10 years) all see similar results. I'm going with my theory that its because the cheats aren't able to do it anymore.

Whether or not that may be, you said it in an extremely condescending and generally asinine way. A post can have a legitimate message and still be nonconstructive.

You're telling me that the results you've found which are hinged on when a cheat fix came out are not at all connected with a belief of cheating? Not very convincing.
