Hah, I like these. Instead of "Upgrade now!" it's "I HAVE A FAMILY TO FEED!" The button is smaller and less bright too, which is an improvement. Now they need to get the war bonds idea somewhere in here and I'd say we're good on advertisement.
Now this looks like it's desperate ... especially the artists! I mean PlayerStudio non employs probably earn more ...
Nah, you can still see the gigantic button if you look hard enough. It's a waste of space but that's just my opinion
once again they do it totally wrong they should be appealing to our faction pride and the war effort! the buttons should say "invest in war bonds", "buy conglomerate shares", "put money into your war chest", "support your faction's war effort" etc. etc. @devs: put propaganda speakers into the game, spam the walls with propaganda posters, hell, do everything that makes you money and increases ingame immersion at the same time! just DON'T implement obnoxious upgrade buttons, annoying popups and desperate messages that tell your player base this game has pretty much failed financially without our support. that's the complete wrong way
This is a really sad way for this game to go down..... More content = More purchases. Upgrade buttons don't do ****. In fact, they'll have the opposite effect. As mentioned above, immersion would have been a great way to increase funds. Support our boys of the front lines! But no, instead we have this obnoxious and hideuos button that tells us to upgrade to premium membership. This just shows how desperate the dev team is getting. There was more content in Planetside 1 for god sakes... And that game survived for a very long time with patches that added even more content. The way this game is going with every gun looking the same, cosmetics being more quickly produced than actual gameplay additions, and extremely poor balancing, it will not succeed.
I'd pay station cash for loudhailers on my sunderer that let me blast faction-specific propoganda. I already glow and trail smoke, let me blast VS propoganda at those silly berkshire hunts in blue or red. Proximity chat only works on my faction D: Could have smaller ones for harassers, and massive line arrays hanging from "Peace" galaxies. Hmm, what if it was a modifier to cap rate? As more vehicles blaring propoganda join the fray, so the cap time is reduced as the sector comes under passive influence of the relevant faction. FOR VANU! WE ARE YOUR ONLY SALVATION! VANU SMILES UPON US! HERESY GROWS FROM IDLENESS! PURGE THE HERETICS! IF IT DOESN'T HURT IT DOESN'T COUNT! wait got a bit "crossed-mythos" with my perpetual scifi war. But yeah, the lack of cross-faction acoustic-trickery saddens me greatly, and not only because I have means of conducting psychological aural warfare > No, not oral warfare, that's just gross. Also, forgive me for not being totally au-fait with late '90s games development, but wouldn't the engine, game world, mechanics etc have been simpler to implement, given it was a retexture of everquest with some lasers and attempts at shooter mechanics. And given everyones epic latencies at the time, massive netcode problems are easily hidden - not so with people on 50mb fibre connections, hell I play on a tethered 3G phone at 100ms latency (which is unrelated, but as a Pre-Internet individual, it boggles my mind slightly). Also aren't the majority of the cosmetics being made by the players? Wait, that doesn't help SOEs case, that means they have even less work to do!
I'll sub for game balance, faction difference and updates that actually fix ****. bookies gave me a 5000/1 odds on that.
Would upgrade if the devs would actually give us feedback on how they use our feedback ... oh and forum interaction ...
I am already a member, almost since beta, so I never saw this UPGRADE NOW! stuff. But come on guys, they have to advertise it somehow. And you can't deny that this is a huge improvement over the stuff I saw in some signatures here in the forum. At least the button itself isn't directly under the resupply/deploy button now. Sometimes it feels like everyone in the forums just sees the negative sides, no matter what the devs do. Is it so hard to make a post going like: Well done, that last patch really toned down that obnoxious MANA turrets to an acceptable level. Unfortunately it seems you also introduced a major issue with lags, occuring mainly during prime times... That sounds so different from the usual. Which goes like: AV turret nerf totally overboard! Turret sucks now, no reason to use it. Imma gonna play HA now only, much better at everything, wow! And im lagging much harder now, you guys suck so hard! Im not gonna play this again till you fix this, losers! kthxbye.
