[Suggestion] Please make exp gain 2x permanently !!!

I'm not sure 2x gain 365 days each year is the answer but I'd probably keep my sub going if the exp gain was boosted more than it is.

That said.. if DBG want to give me 2x gain all week every week then I'm all for it. :)

Otherwise maybe X days every week are 2x boost... mostly on slow days to improve pop count or just the weekends.
    or
Members get the option of picking which days are 2x boost

Or simply lower the exp per level in the 60-100 levels a little and keep the boost values the way they are.

Regardless, there is a fine line between keeping players active in achieving level 100 to go towards ASP (and continuing that path) and burning them out or frustrating them to the point that they give up or don't bother because the task seems so monumental that it isn't worth the effort.

Right now ASP isn't really worth the effort to me to grind. And grinding, on the whole, is not fun... in an activity that should be fun (playing a game).

The leveling experience should be seamless and, really, hidden from view.. it should just happen as we play and not feel like a chore. Especially since now there are thing(s) tied to that level, so level has value.

Perhaps the boost percentage for members should just increase/level along with our character level? I think I like that idea the most.

HAHAH hoooly, i'm a student i have a job and i have bills to pay. So now thats out of the way.
First the people that use money on the game are whom that keeps the game alive, else Daybreak would of shut it down.
Maybe it aint making it better but atleast it's keeping roofs above their head. Now they have been hiring new devs lately , mostly because the money implants brought in.

Have you spent even a dime to support this game? Planetside 2 is not charity it's a game from a company that have employees who need to earn a living. Get that into your head.

now i have played this for 5 years, five f***ing years and it has been a good time, Now if i was to go to the movies it would cost me 15-23 $ aswell thats 1-2 hours worth of entertainment. A beer cost 10-15$ at a bar(norway, Oslo)...
Now in my point of view 500$ for 5 years of playtime with countless of hours is fair amount to support them with, compared to other costs of entertainment.

So if you just want to complain and not actually use any money just play the game and say the devs are gready i dont care...
But to say that the people who are paying and spending their money on a game they love so the game can keep on going for maybe another 5 years or more, what pays the server costs, what pays the employees of this company, what hires new coders.
TO SAY THAT THEY ARE MORONS THAT I WONT ACCEPT! IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THIS THEN YOU ARE THE MORON HERE... and i'm just a guy who appriciate and support a game that i love.

money may not make the game any better but atleast it keeps the game and the devs going on, so they can improve the game.

    That idea i love!!!

Well i'm sorry if my point got a little bit blurred out when i mentioned money, now yes there should be a grind... no one should get everything straight away, but they could make getting br100 easier...
  5. Gushroom

Yes, certs should be easier earned, now that they have added so much, and there is so much to spend certs on! And yeah they should atleast make the cost 5k certs for ASP, for the love of god reaching br100 is already a grind.
  6. SmittyJensen

That's neat! I'd really like to see more holidays.. and not just with increased experience point boosts, but with new titles and flair.. horns.. etc that aren't just limited time purchases but rewards for everyone who plays.

I subbed WoW for 8 years solid and my number one thing to do was to collect titles and gear/pets/mounts on holiday events as well as achievements. I'd like to see PS2 expand on that.. and don't make them infuratingly hard to get like the phalactery was for halloween or the title around Christmas time. I didn't get either even though I was dedicated in my free time to getting them.

These should be easier pickups meant to reward people for logging in and playing during the events, not hardcore grinds like they are today. Utterly frustrating how PS2 handles these to a slightly less skilled player who doesn't have all day to play (adult with job).

So I figure I should put this forth.

In order for a player at BR 50 right now to achieve complete ASP ( IE, get to BR 100, reset, and then get there again), and if we assume a 1100 hours to BR 100 leveling model, and that insert player here is following that model ( lot of assumptions, I know), then it would take them a mere 1800 hours minimum to achieve complete ASP without a membership.

If we also assume an average play rate of 50 hours a month ( cause it makes the math easy, and its a realistic value), then that translates to 600 hours a year.

That means that fully unlocking all of ASP is 3 years away. Just starting it requires a year and four months based on this mathematical model.

So yeah... this is definitely an issue with ASP. Its requirements are absolutely absurd.

As for XP gain in general, yeah, I am inclined to agree that it could stand a buff. I want to feel like i'm playing planetside for the experience of fighting a massive war, going out on risky attack runs in my vehicles, etc. I don't want to feel like i'm playing because there's another top tier thing for me to try and grind towards.

    why not? :)
  9. Daigons

Maybe give extra XP to non-ASP players when they kill one of the elite ASP players?

no one should get everything straight away by paying*.
Ofc they could give out a few more free stuff to people, like a starter smg or that you could choose up too 3 free weapons(no weapons beyond 2017) when you first join the game. I mean they have added so much stuff now that when you join in as a new player it's overwhelming, and now with ASP aswell.

And what about this. the more hours you have been gone you collect exp bonuses (1 day .. 5% for two days, up too a week 35% for 2 days). This will make people who only have time to play in the weekends, too feel that they can be more on par with people that can play much more( e.g each day).
  11. Gushroom

This would be great, exp mechanics like these should be implemented.
While we are at killing elite ASP players they could also implement a directive for this. same as the bounty thing.

No I mean why not get rid of the grind all together? For everyone? No more grind at all! What's the point of grinding anyway?
  13. Gushroom

everything unlocked?? i mean yeah could be nice but how are they gonna earn money??
I mean sure the majority of players have nearly everything and yeah new players feels they dont have ****.... but how are they gonna earn money? only implants , membership(and whats the point about membership then) ?
Would be awesome , but the game wont sustain on that and they wont bother making new weapons then.
But imo they could give us way more for free, maybe also unlock everything for one choosen class with 5 weapons from that class?
  14. Inzababa

No, we were talking about XP and grinding BR levels. Sure certs is also a grind, but I thought that that is what we meant?
  15. SmittyJensen

I like having levels on my characters, it makes me feel like I've done something.. I can just see my high(er) level characters as they 'progress.'

If anything, I'd like to see more things tied to BR such as unlockables or camos... pick 1 of 3 and pathing in character development. More RPG side of character development that could bring more to the game than just running around shooting stuff.

But regardless the leveling experience shouldn't be a grind. That is different from leveling. A grind, to me, means more of a frustrating and/or tedious leveling experience. Grinds are unfun.

So, personally speaking, there should be more elements tied to character level / battle rank, but the leveling experience should be smoother or easier to accomplish.

there aint a point in grinding at all realy. at this point only a thierd of the players will ever reach ASP status and the new players will never see it ever if at all. with the way the current set up for F2Ps are some will never reach that level of BR at all before there burnt out on the game.

if they got rid of the grind and made everything unlockable via BR level (( non skined guns and gear and such )) and implamented a skill point system mixed in with the Cert system being able to buy guns with certs as well as perkpoints used to unlock them as a skill tree branch or something.

and if day break knew a damn thing about marketing they would know that they can make money from the hard core whales via gun skins and custom camos and other things like that. add more of that into the game and people will buy them. its not hard to do simple microtransaction math for games. nearly all free to play games have HUGE skin lists for there guns. and weapons and outfits and stuff. its just daybreaks to lazy to make them. and not willing to put them into the game. insted they like to shove people to the shop for there over priced memberships and other useless ****.

if they boosted XP to the point it didnt take years to grind out BR 100 and grind out certs. more people would be onboard with there ASP system. but as it currently sits you eather buy a 15$ membership which normel people that dont live at home with there mommy and daddys and have everything handed to them on a silver plater or are not working a high end high paying middle and uppper class job. (( poor lower class people can never buy **** in games thats why we play free to play games and only buy a game once a year maybe twice )) cant aford.

if daybreak also had any brains they would have a system in place to earn free daybreak cash like most other free to play companys have. via servays or downloading apps on a phone or PC for X ammount of in game cash.

there are so many simple things that day break could do. and they chose not to do it. insted they want money outright and dont care who they push out of the game to get it. yeah we get new players from time to time. but how long do they stay in the game ? weeks ? mounths ? at the most 4 mounths ? alot of new players get steam rolled by a high BR and they give up uninstall and leave.

theres no incentive to stay. theres no " hay heres a reward for geting higher BR " theres nothing to retain players. and the ASP system is not helping matters at this point. if someone does not stay to br 100 and earn there 10000 certs. to buy into it. what makes daybreak think that the current system is going to be as populer as they want it to be let alone used as much as they want it to be.

give the players **** they want and they will stay. give players faster access to upgrades on there infintrey and vehicals and aircrafts. give players faster access to weapons and gear. give the paying players more camos and gun skins and player skins and class skins and vehical skins and everything else like that. give more helmets. decals and other items that can both be bought by daybreak cash and certs. give out more free earned via compleating derective inplants. give better implant odds.
all this **** players have been asking for.

but the biggest thing of all is the simplest.

stop ****ing on the TR and blowing them off and only giveing the VS and NC there ******** teachers pet upgrades and buffs.

how long has the TR been asking for a weapon that is on par with the VS weapons ? or even the NC weapons. yeah we have a few good ones in the TR but some how the DPS faction is out DPSed by VS ? and NC ? this ***** got to be fixed.

look at the new weapons comeing out soon ? vs gun has someing speicel about it the NC also. what does the TR get ? a ******** spin up effect !

and for god damn ******* christ sake aint the VS TR and NC been fighting long enough for SOME of the tech from each faction of gotten picked up on the battle field and ******* backwards manufactered by each faction ? where the hell is the VS type weapons for NC and TR ? where are the TR type weapons for VS and NC and where are the NC type weapons for the VS and TR ?

back on point. give the damn XP boost allready. give the damn free to players better XP and Cert gain and stop being so damn greedy and pushing everyone that dont have monet to the damn store most if not all that dont have money are not going to pay into this game accept that and ******* so something that the player base wants for once in this damn games life. before daybreak kills it like it has all its other games.
  17. Callyste

Am I the only one who senses irony there?
  18. JadeSinn

you do know that in the 5 years you have been playing that THEY MAKE MONEY off the other games that are not free to play. the dev team is not just one team that works on only one game. the so called company you think is not makeing TUNS of money is makeing more money off there other games then they are makeing on PS2 that means that your little bits of money that you have been puting into the game mean dick to this company your a drop in a bucket thats allready filled. your money is not keeping the servers running , and nearly all the people paying for this game are not keeping a " roof " over the daybreak teams head.

this game could shut down tomarrow and they would wipe there *** with the money they made from it and move on to a new game. so yes you are a moron for suporting a free to play game with waisted money on a membership

so your a student ? with a job ? how much money you say you waisted on this game ? 500+$ ? maybe more ? and you got hours of entertanment out of it ? good for you. oviusly you make enough money to blow on a game. people that live in the real world and work real jobs and have real bills . dont have money to waist. there money goes in to so many diffrent things that they dont have the cash to blow on some game that is F2P thats why they play F2P games.

but good for you for being rich enough to blow money on a game you enjoy. i for one will not pay into a game if i do not have to.

and that is the point of this whole damn forum post that everyone is " complaning " about. anyone with a brain can see that this is daybreak forceing players to buy memberships for an over priced system that more then half the playerbase will never reach or see. a system that is locked behind a 10k cert wall that most if not all F2P players will never reach. and the ones that have real lives and pay real bills will never beable to buy into with real cash. becuse they have more emportent things to pay for then a games ******** membership, that gives you what ? a few xp boosts a small qountanty of daybreak cash thats not even enough to buy a skin for a gun ? you realy dont see how much there riping people off with there memberships even.

or how they could be makeing more money from whales if they simpley added more skins and armour variations and camoes and weapon skins to this game. do you even know how a real F2P games microtransaction store looks like ? its 90% outfits and skins and 10% XP and SP and ingame cash boosts. and yet theses free to play games have been around as long or longer then PS2 and never once have pushed there players to the item shops saying " you have to buy this if you want this or you can grind for more then a year to earn it "
  19. Callyste

Some people are completely disconnected from reality.
  20. Gushroom

500$ for 5 years is equal to 0,27$ each day. Now i play maybe half hour each day of this game. I dont have to be super rich to afford 0,27$ worth of spending each day. haha Yeah i make enought money to blow 0,27$ a day.
I mean if you dont want to support the devs it's your choice, but the other games you are talking about have a small player base and H1Z1 is failing hard now. It cant compete in the market so yeah i dont mind supporting the people who owns this game.
