Without increased moderation for the weekend, the de-facto effect of the 4x XP event might be that tons of old players return, only to decide never to play again because they see the game is made unplayable by the flying sundy cheaters.

Of course having devs run shifts on over the weekend to jump between servers to make sure to quickly ban cheaters, that could work. But I am guessing that might be out of the question. It's also not a viable long-term solution.

If you over the weekend could award certain trusted community members' accounts with a simple /kick command, with the only effect to issue a 1-hour ban on someone, and make it clear it may only be used for the most obvious of cheaters, this could be enough to make these flying sundy cheaters not completely ruin the event.

Maybe you can assess the results afterwards, and decide whether it's worth continuing such a program long-term.

I absolutely volunteer. But I also don't really mind which players you give this to as long as there is some accountability to their actions. But if we would get just some such players for the weekend, it could be enough to help bump the cheaters off the server so everyone can enjoy the event.

New Dev Team, we have faith in you. Stop every other 'update' and work on BattleEye implementation or whatever it is you need to do. The game is fine for now. Hackers is what makes it unplayable, not 'the sunderer has .0275 more X than Y so we rebalanced .0065 percent to what the hell ever"..

This is a pretty good comment. The hacker with the flying sunderer has been pretty active saying they wanted to drive down players and disrupting this would be a goal of theirs. Mithril bringing this up to the team would be a good thing!

I've been saying this for a while now they should give mod benefits to players above asp 100, they've got enough experience to correctly ban cheaters, and have an account with a lot to lose if they abuse of their mod powers. It also ensures there's at least one mod on every server always online. Really they should look into it.

I mean, if someone was actively hard cheating they could probably grind out ASP 100 pretty quickly overall. It isn't a solution, I'd sooner see it be a proper program to some degree with old age of account, progress on account, overall activity of the account and that sort factored in.

Still a program or something in general to have people able to handle things in the immediate moment and then have proper devs/staff review for later wouldn't be a bad thing, even if they are only addressing the most blatant abuses.

Still was going hard, and staying with NC most of the night, EXTEREMLY likely they are an alt or player for the group of NC that was taking bases on Esamir since the hacker was often over on their side helping them.

The flying sunderer hacker rotates around the empires every time they get banned.
