Two new lattice links on Esamir: From Andvari South Bank to Andvari Frozen Reservoir From Andvari Frozen Reservoir to Andvari Barracks This would: spread the battle around this brutal meatgrinder prevent all-night-long stalemates caused by the bio-farm
Three lattice lines from each warpgate. The two on the flanks reach major facilities then branch from there. You have to sack the major facility there to progress in or out of that warpgate lattice line. The proposed change would allow bypassing the major facility here. You could warpgate that nearby faction without having to slog through the facility. Similarly, that faction could not be contained on that lattice by a major battle. Sorry, but that bottleneck is there for a reason.
Again, kinda by design. I was on NC last night (when that lab was nearest the VS gate) and that thing locked up hard. We left, went somewhere else for a bit. VS pushed out from that warpgate with little resistance so much of the population on that lattice left. We returned about 30min after the original battle and were able to take it. There are certain spots in the lattice system where bottle necks are intentional, and also place on deliberately difficult bases. This is also where some of the most epic battles take place.
The bottlenecks may be by design but that doesn't mean it's not a bad design, there should indeed be major facilities that are hard to bypass but here's the thing, having satellite bases doesn't suddenly make them easy to bypass. Consider the example above, even if the TR try to make a move on Andvari South Bank without dealing with the Bio-Lab the NC can sally forth into Andvari Barracks and Frozen Resivoir threatening a cut and forcing the TR to distribute their forces along an extended front. Essentially neutering a Zerg by spreading it out and preventing obscene numbers from piling up at a couple of doors.
Sure, you can go ahead. Just remember to bear the consequences of 3 (!) simultaneous cutoff possibilities you left open to your enemy. Seriously, I see no way 3 parallel cutoff locations would allow the fight to advance. It would merely spread the fights around.
