Please do something about the spawn room warriors

Drop mines, they will kill each other eventually
  2. Kristan

Well, I'd like to look at you while you're trying to change loadouts or in second option go and die to painfield because you needed to resupply. :D

Before suggesting stupid ideas think how it might backfire on you.

i spawned into a spawn room today with the idea of running outside and fighitng back, i never made it out the door because this ******* also believes in using C4 inside spawn rooms to get people out, i think he killed 10 guys, 5 of which just spawned in and were getting ready to go outside

and all of this happened at a Galaxy solar, when we were out numbered 48+ to 12-25
if you dont like getting shot in the back by ppeople in spawn rooms, go get a sundy and try that out and see how long you last
but dont do this BS, its stupid and unproductive

this is who killed me, may he burn in the everlasting regeneration chambers of hell

If staying at a base that is getting owned so hard that spawncamping even becomes a problem. Isnt it time to move on?...

Only for those who complain about it .. But they don't in many cases seem to follow their own advice and redeploy somewhere else ..

Redeploy > Pull a sundy > Give those people stuck in the spawn an option to spawn and flank ... Not entirely rocket science , but I guess it's just easier to complain.

I have my loadouts preset. Double tap E and run. You really think I have time to waste staring at an equipment screen?
  7. Typhoeus

Why would you jump into friendly fire? Odds are they are aiming down sights and don't have the peripheral vision to see you coming. You on the other hand do see if they are aiming down sight about to fire or already firing. I realize you are upset but who's fault is it you got killed?

I suggest you tell people that you are going to bring a sunderer over, and they should get ready to redeploy.

Alternatively, tell them politely to organize and go out of the spawn as infiltrators.

Spawnroom warriors happen because of spawnroom campers, and honestly most of the time you're pinned in the spawnroom there isn't much you can do besides redeploying or playing as an infiltrator. I assume that most of these players aren't trying to pad their K/D ratio; instead they're trying to get a few easy certs for weapons/upgrades they may want to purchase, and IMO there is nothing wrong with this.

A Solution, randomly teleport tube spawners around the hex after 30-45 seconds inside room.

Would be very funny watching spawn room campers constantly having to refocus there attention else where.
  10. Alarox

What kind of results have you had with that?

ALL the doors of covered with people doing this. You literally can't leave the spawn room after the zerg gets within 30m of a Matterson VS base because all the spawn warriors show up and create walls of people next to all the shields.
  12. Suicide Trooper

So how things were in Planetside 1? I hear people say from time to time that there were no spawncamping back then but I never played it.
  13. faykid

I am REALLY, REALLY annoyed by people who say they are annoyed by spawn room warriors.
Defenders become spawn room warriors when it is 30% vs. 70%, i.e. when spawn exit is nearly impossible.
If you have 40% vs. 60% and better, they are not a problem, people still leave the spawn, there is no issue of being TK'ed in the back.
But if you want to run out of a beseiged spawn room at a 30% vs.70% base to your certain death, please do so, but leave spawn room warriors alone, they just want to have fun. Go through the roof, you are not going to make it back anyway.
You know, there are people who do not play in large squads/platoons, so even if they redeploy to the next base they will not be able to do anythig about the current situation. All they can do is have fun shooting at zerglings and then redeploying in the end.

Please help do your part. Give the cowards a stern warning over proxy first. It is more than they deserve but we must be civilized about this.

If they refuse to heed the warning, proceed to dispose of them in the most effective manner available using a minimum of ammunition. If you manage to double-tap+knife them in the back of their heads rapidly I imagine that puts things in perspective. Avoid explosives - those cost resources better spent on the enemy and might hinder the real soldiers by blowing up someone who was on their way out.

This is a free to play game. If anyone seriously hampers and destroys the enjoyment of your play-style, destroy theirs in turn. Cowardice - and worse - window-licking, when you can actively defend or, failing that option's viability, re-deploy to a different base should carry a zero-tolerance penalty. Apply it, and do so liberally.

Do your part, and help make Auraxis a more fun* place to be today.

*Does not apply to those making it unfun to begin with.

Granted it's annoying being shot in the back by friendlies when trying to actually complete the objective, the only objective, of the game, taking back the control point.
I don't know if it's getting better or worse, I've just started to notice when it's possible or not to leave a spawnroom, usually the threat of being killed is greater inside the shields and when that happens "U", next fight. I'm sure hexjumping isn't what SOE intended and all the "just do [this] that'll solve it all how hard is it" is so easy to say, but the fact is that the maps are big and the game has so many angles to factor in that I don't even want to think that I can just Quick-Fix it with a random forumpost solution. I have faith in the developers long-term.

On another note even though sometimes it SUCKS, we can't dictate how others enjoy the game and as someone else mentioned, teamkilling because someone isn't playing the game as you'd like them ? Come on that's just silly. The other day I was running frantic through the battlefield avoiding tankshells, enemyfire and ESF's, as we all know the noise level can get pretty high and this was the case for me while trying to reach the frontlines. All of a sudden "BAM BAM" shot dead in the back, by a friendly. Seconds later I get a tell saying "You should have healed me....". That is proper wtf, him killing me is going to get him more healed ?

Conclusion, I think the developers will adress this issue in the long run with small steps, it's not something that can be fixed over a weekend with a few cups of coffee. Until then, here's what I do when in a spawnroom camp situation.

    1. SMG infiltrator
    2. Bases nearby, flank ?
    3. Redeploy to a more interesting fight and accept the loss.

For the love of god don't C4 friendlies just because they're not playing the game properly, a big lot of them might actually be Battle Rank 2 and completely oblivious to what's actually happening, being C4:ed by friendlies isn't going to make them think "Ok, I did something wrong, maybe I should re think my playstyle", it's most likely just going to upset them and make them leave and this game don't need people leaving right now.

And what if you will want to edit loadout? Or come for medic or engie if you're in MAX to patch you up?

So you have suggested to turn on pain field on point flip, which means you won't have time to come back in to double tap E. Maybe you will manage to do this, but you will sure die trying to exit. Or even if you're fast enough you will come out of spawns with 25% HP left, which means you will die to a single rogue bullet. I'm not even talking about guys who already spawning under the painfield on.

So painfield solutions are no go. Only no exp and kill count if you kill somebody from spawnroom.
  17. Kristan

Spawnrooms were deep inside the facility or towers. It was a room with 3 exits which led to cap point and generator, which at most bases were down in basement as well. And all spawnroom exits were not straight tunnels, so it was impossible to fire directly in. And it had doors which enemy had to hack to open. But still there was a thing like spawncamping, but in other way. When attackers breach in the spawnroom and clear it out, instead of destroying spawn tubes (yes, they were destroyable) they waited for new people to respawn and instantly killed them, yet they suffered from painfield during this.

HadesR: "Remove XP gained from kills while in the spawn room."
    Brilliant!

The C4 idea is also great. I'll adapt it! :D
  19. uhlan

The whine is so thick here it's turning to vinegar.

My god people, you don't HAVE to charge the spawn shields and get shot at.

How about you wait in ambush until the other ADD ridden guys decide to come looking.

I mean, what would you do if there were no one at the base?

Virtually the same thing I'll warrant...

...sit around at wait for the timer.

For those of you aspiring Napoleons that want to c4 the friendlies in the spawn, take a pill or lead by example.

Or maybe, if you want a team that listens to your diatribes, make an outfit and leave the rest of the player base alone.
