If the Lore-Rise of the Empires is anything to follow, it has quite some interesting facts and information about it. Connery was well liked and respected by most people so it was quite a blow. Someone had phrased it quite well: A TR traiter in the ranks made a succesful bid for power through killing an entire ship. This traiter became the dictator of the TR and is maintaining his greasy hold. NC hates the forced restrictions he imposed and started to actually fight back harder. O the ship that was destroyed, peace between TR and NC was achieved, but blown apart before word got out. Brent Waterson is the leader of the TR TR are the bad guys What are your thoughts?
Another thing i forgot to mention, was your opinions of NC and VS. The change in perspective of one faction can change the perspective of the others. What are your thoughts?
Actually I wouldn't see any of the factions as knights in shining armor. TR: A so called "Republic" that sees itself as the rightful goverment (although the titles "Republic" and "President" are more the official terms for what really goes on) and fights everyone who don't want to be part. NC: Basically the security services of the big coorporations, they want their freedom and own control fighting anyone who might oppres them. VS: A semi-religious group of scientists who sees the future of mankind in technological advancement using the stuff left behind from a probably extinct alian race and fight all who are against that. So we have basically an oppressive dictatorship against a commercial private army against mad scientists.
The main purpose of this lore was to explain how the war started and making sure that three Faction are equally bad so that you have equal chance of choosing the faction you want to fight with. Now two small questions. 1.Who did a massacre that started a war? 2.Are there enough content to make a movie?
Now Considering that Everyone is now immortal thanks to nano tech This war could go on for for a millennium, but what happens when the Non Immortal Terran's from earth find a way to stabilize Wormholes and see the condition of Auraxis? Do the Terran Republic try to contact the Republic of Auraxis or will these Terrans from Earth Nuke Auraxis from Orbit?
Well, that depends. If the auraxis-based "Republic" will accept the earch-based "Republic" as superior it might end well. If not the "main" Forces might the Traitors. Also possible if they see the threat by NC and VS as to much of a hassle.
I've always thought that PS2 was actually a simulation for when the Auraxians gather at the wormhole to invade Earth. It plays like a game because it essentially is one. I mean why else would there be so many similarities between an utterly alien planet and good ol' Earth? The chances of that happening are incredibly small, particularly one that is complete with Earth-like biomes. It also explains the entire "not dying" part of things as there should have been a natural population explosion over time if you cut out death.
We're all being manipulated by unscrupulous power brokers, political leaders who want to maintain their priviledged position in society, ruthless business mandarins who want to carve out a private empire where they are free to exploit everyone for profit and mad scientists who want to obtain god-like powers by achieving a higher state of existence through alien technology. The end is the same (domination), it is just the means that differ. Either that, or a hidden alien intelligence is carrying out a huge psychological experiment on the human race by giving us immortality and watching to see what we do with it and how we evolve as a result. This would explain why we can not only revive but can revive in any of the factions we choose until the next time we die (but never as one of the elite). And we are always the same age and we all look the same within each racial trait. Of course this is a big experiment...the question is who is runining it?
