i Disabled GPU PhysX and put the overrall setting to low,and now it doesnt crash so often, but still crash sometimes :|,i wanted to play this game on ultra, since my computer can handle that without any problem, but if SOE doesnt fix the crash problems i gonna have to play on low :/
I was heavily considering actually spending some dime on this game. It ran well a few months ago, then I broke to play through some other games, when I came back a month ago, it's just nonstop crashing. Todays game update certainly didn't help as I crashed 5 minutes into it. Happens on every continent, regardless of my GPU Physics settings. UGH, I guess I'll do this ticket process. It's not often that I like a game enough to fill out forms for it.
Still keeps crashing without error. PC is beyond ultra quality settings. Will there be a fix for this fatal error? If yes, when?
Hey guys, Same frustation here. Nvidia 770 GTX z77 board i7 Sandy bridge CPU 16 GB RAM Cosair neutron SSD CTD usually 3 times at first, then after than stable for a while. Then sometimes when I access a terminal or use squad deply or spawn beacon it will crash. Always say planetside 2 has stopped working and hangs on that screen with mouse sort of sluggish. I have tried different settings Low and high and ultra but it still crashes. Kind of pointless to have a good desktop computer if you have to run this game on all LOW settings isnt it. Just before the crash I'll get lagging FPS to almost nothing then boom crash. Will try reverting divers and test that theory.
Yup that's that, just crashed again not 3 minutes after relogging. I am done playing until this gets resolved. Submitted my info and hope this gets fixed, game is all but unplayable like this.
Is anyone else having their computer become choppy and slow to perform when trying to start the planetside 2 updater? It let me into the game the first few times but now I cannot even update to the latest hotfix. As soon as I try to run the updater my computer slows to a crawl, stops responding and I have to do a hard reset by the power button on my case. If I try to restart my computer it gets stuck at the shutting down screen forever and will not reboot. So yeah I don't try to play PS2 these days, I like having a functioning hard drive.
I've recently started crashing. A lot. The thing which has changed is the GFX: changed from a AMD 5770 1gig to a MSI GTX660 2gig and bloody hell its annoying. Just straight to desktop like a switch has been thrown - and no windows error. Before the change, no crashing. Just the error on quit that most peeps get
For at least past few weeks my planetside crashes after I exit almost everytime. Also I suddenly lag and crash, keeps happengin right now very frustrating since you lose you r vechile
still getting this problem. I've rolled back the NVidia drivers and it's helped, but its far from fixed. I'm lucky to get 40m out of the game as it stands. most frustrating.
There are probably many different bugs causing different people with different hardware to crash in different ways, and everyone's throwing around steps that might fix one bug when the recipient of the advice is most likely suffering from another bug. I still get the occasional crash. Sometimes they're an hour apart. Sometimes I crash when I get revived. Overall, the game seems to be held together with duct tape and bubble gum. It'd be nice if we had a bugtracker and a few people who are actually informed to manage it, but I don't expect that will happen with this game. I don't pretend that it's some kind of universal fix, but the third link solved most crashing for me and another poor sod who thinks he wants to play Planetside 2.
Hi There, I don't know if this will help but I had the same problem. I first tried to use medium graphics settings, tried different nvidia drivers without succes. Then I found out that it was because my overclocking wasn't stable. So I disabled my OC and went default with my CPU Voltage and Multiplier. It no longer crashes. Hope this helps some of you.
I don't need to put up with this so already stopped playing for the past two weeks, the steam sale will keep me busy until SoE Higby notices his game needs fixing.
The game is crashing for me like every 10 min. Really kills any pleasure . I put some money in game including 6 months sub but i guess is time to say goodbye, there are other games waiting for my $ as it looks that Sony doesn;t care.
I took a month off from the game to move, and now that I started to play again I'm crash-exiting out of EVERY session. I basically play until it crashes (sometimes it takes 10 mins, sometimes it takes an hour), then I give Sony a silent curse word, shut my computer off and go do something else. It just crashes in the middle of anything. Even walking across the desert on Indar with nothing around. I might blink, and I'm suddenly looking at my desktop. No error message box popup, no nothing. It's pretty bizarre how it crashes like this. But I have no real right to complain I guess since I've never paid a penny to Sony. Great game tho, for free!! Even with the constant crashes. It don't matter, but my rig is beyond state-of-the-art, and no I haven't checked my video card temps. If the beast is overheating, it isn't my problem, it's Sony's problem. It's their money at stake, not mine. If they can't fix their game, oh well. Also, I moved from the west coast to the east coast and now I'm stuck with the Connery server and the extra lag. Just another reason I don't really like Sony and won't pay them any money. It's ree tar dead they don't let us switch servers. If they think I'm gonna start over with a new character from level one and spend all those hours repairing turrets again to build myself up... yah right...
Update drivers. 314.22 was best for my rig, anything else besides the new beta drivers was hot garbage. Im running 326.41 betas right now and it runs great - though does still freeze on exit. No in game crashes though.
I have had a lot of problems with the game crashing lately. I log in, start the game and everything up to here goes perfectly, but once I log in with my character, the game crashes. Every time. Well, except for the first time I launched the game today, I got on my character and was walking a bit around and then exited the game and it crashed. After that, as I've already wrote, the game crashes every time I log in with an character. The PC I'm using, is an Packard Bell EasyNote TV with AMD Dual-Core Processor A6-4400M, AMD Radeon HD 7520G + 7670M with 1GB dedicated VRAM and 8GB DDR3 Memory. I have no problems with other games on this laptop.
Getting this too, had it ever since I upgraded to the most recent Nvidia drivers. First I had a black screen and the game would hang, before the character select. Now it just crashes. God damn.. Rolling back to older drivers, but I don't think it'll change anything
Here's what worked for me... Download and install MSI Afterburner, set Core Clock and Memory clock both down by -50. Set your fan speed to 60%. Go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sound then Power Options, Balanced(Recommended), Change Plan settings, Change Advanced Power Settings, PCI Express, Link State Power Management, Setting: OFF I fiddled with some settings under NVIDIA Control Panel, but my game freezes and system hanging with my sound buzzing is basically a thing of the past... Hope this helps...
