PlanetSide 2 has stopped working crashes every 10-20 minutes

Yeah I know I posted on the last page stating most times the crashes seem random but that is a frequent crash i can narrow down.

On death as the camera shows your dead body and that short musical riff plays it can often crash.

I just wanted to add that whenever I crash it's after something happens like I die, or open a menu, and sometimes when I drop out of a galaxy and hit the ground.

I am also getting these frequent crashes. Because of this I only attempt to play this game once every 1 or 2 days during my free time. It crashes every time after about 10-15 minutes and then I do something else.

I am getting constant crashes. Last night I had 9 crashes in about 3-4 hours. Today I have had 4 crashes in about 1 1/2 hours. Around 30 minutes of play on average is all my game can manage before it just shuts down. People with all range of systems have had problems so I can only hope somebody will get address this issue asap, as the constant crashes are such a gamebreaker.

Glad you figured it out, I was gonna reply since I saw someone else post about crashing on launch - apparently if you have more than one DirectX Input device attached to your computer (joystick, mouse, gamepad, etc) then it crashes. Just FYI this is different from the intermittent in-game crashes others in this thread (me included) are seeing.

Yeah thanks. I had a feeling it wasn't related, but once I figured out the issue I knew right away it wasn't the same thing unfortunately.

By the way, I just crashed and noticed there's some Sony Error Log Uploader that runs while it's crashing (I saw it in the task manager) so I'm sure they're getting reports of these crashes, even if we don't see any messages. Still waiting for a response/acknowledgement.

Interesting, do you think the <Data>PhysX3CharacterKinematic_x86.dll</Data> is causing the 10-30min .exe crash for everyone?

I've always felt it was a memory leak, or improper memory allocation or caching for 32-bit systems.

Running Windows 7 - 32bit with 4gb of memory. Same issues. Lasts between about 4 - 15 mins.

I have tried the firewall trick and set up the rules, however I am no tech head and had no idea what options to chose. I also cound not do the bcdedit as I got the following error: 'The boot configuration data store could not be opened. Access is denied'.

You need to launch the command prompt as Administrator to run bcdedit, but that's not a solution to this problem (it doesn't fix it for me or many others, it causes various other problems, may make windows unbootable, etc.)

I just finished reinstalling Windows 8 in 64 bit mode, also kicked in a few more ram, jumping from 3GB to 6 GB, 40 minutes of play, no crashes.

Definitely seems like the 32 bit was the issue. Some of the other attempts helped, but never got around the root issue, this seems to be a massive client.

Well i was able to play un interrupted for about 45 minutes this evening, i will report all information i have done to tweak things mabey it will work for others but until i have more testing time probably this weekend i can not say. But i may have an easy fix for 32 bit players getting the 10-20 minute crash problems keeping fingers crossed.

It was nice to get fully immersed in a battle without the client crashing .

first chance i get to do futher testing if the results are positive i will post up what i did and how its done .

Well, nothing has changed on my end but we moved from crashes every 30 minutes yesterday to crashes every 10 today. As before - windows 8x64 with 16gig of ram.

Also getting crashes around every hour or two of gameplay, in addition to the client crashing on every exit.

I find the idea of editing Windows settings or reallocating memory just to play a game without regular crashing ludicrous, so looking forward to an immediate hotfix for this issue.

This problem concurrent with the TPTB only doing their optimisation push post-launch really does compound the notion that no MMO can ever have a successful launch!

Still waiting for a fix/response to this. Was in beta and had this all throughout. What gives SOE? Crashing every 5 minutes now.

Same problem here. I'm able to play for 10-30 minutes an then the game crashes.

I'm on win 7 x64 with 8gb RAM it's not a memory leak.
