The only real advantage of 64-bit is how your processor manages and processes ram. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with running a 32-bit version of Windows. Edit: not to mention there's rather a few users in this forum running 64-bit who is encountering this problem.
constantly crashing, just reinstalled a clean copy of windows, updated my drivers only thing on my computer is this game... here is the information from event viewer Faulting application name: PlanetSide2.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x50f74754 Faulting module name: PlanetSide2.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x50f74754 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0185e993 Faulting process id: 0x12a8 Faulting application start time: 0x01cdf5b35906fcde Faulting application path: C:\Users\Public\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2\PlanetSide2.exe Faulting module path: C:\Users\Public\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2\PlanetSide2.exe Report Id: abfa11e7-61a6-11e2-b672-003067bb7119 Faulting application name: Dwm.exe, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bc541 Faulting module name: dwmcore.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7c62d Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000000024d8 Faulting process id: 0x710 Faulting application start time: 0x01cdf5b206cbf6c7 Faulting application path: C:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\dwmcore.dll Report Id: 7b339072-61a5-11e2-b672-003067bb7119 Faulting application name: DllHost.exe, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bca54 Faulting module name: ole32.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7c92c Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000001fbaa Faulting process id: 0xbc4 Faulting application start time: 0x01cdf48680eb8e82 Faulting application path: C:\Windows\system32\DllHost.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\ole32.dll there are 2 others as well, if anyone knows whats going on please help,, CLEARLY tech support or the Dev team don't give a rats *** about this COMMON issue
Crashing has gotten worse for me since the last hotfix (january 17th) Seems to happen randomly (8 min, 20 min, 45 min,) Before i crashed twice in the entire time I have played since Beta (Guess I am very lucky for that) Windows 8 (64-bit) i5-2410m (2.7) GTX 570m ( 6GB RAM
same as above, game freezes or crashes @ random times. windows 7 64 bit i7 3770k radeon hd6870 16gb ram
Same here. Game was perfect before the 17th. Since the hotfix I get a lot of crashes, this is unacceptable, SOE definitely broke something with their last game update. I don't think our specs matter much, I have heard a lot of random CTD complaints since the new patch from various people with all sorts of different hardware setups. I had one or two fluke crashes before this patch, now I'm getting 6+ CTDs a day. They're not limited to any certain events or the size of battles, I just got one right now after a fight that we won on Indar, I went to repair an equipment terminal and the game just crashed. Really hope devs are taking notice of this, a lot of people have stability issues since the hotfix.
Same thing with me. Crashing at random times. Never has happened before. This last hotfix definitely made the client unstable.
It seen like your RAM is the problem Try memtest86+ to testing the RAM. Reset the IE, and update the Graphic card driver too.
Ditto on the freezing issue. I am getting that regularly now and have to force close the application because of it about half the time.
Happening to me again at the 2 hour mark, pretty much to the dot. I think they reintroduced a memory leak with the hotfix...
Good possibility. I have notice a DRASTIC drop in performance after running PS2 again like last time they had a bad leak.
I never had this problem until last week, it started crashing after a few hours, which wasn't a big deal, but now I crash after idling for two minutes on the character selection screen. I run happily on ultra at around 50-60 fps.
Yesterday I managed to play straight for one hour thirty minutes, exited the game, came back a half hour later and crashed in a couple of minutes. What?
