hello all. this game is causing my computer to lock up with sound loop and I don't know why(only this game locks up). it does it after about 2 hours, sometimes i can play for 2-4 hours before it will. it seems to be random, so i can't say if I am doing anything in game that might be causing it. I updated all drivers and my bios is up to date. my cpu is overclocked but not my video card. all temps are good, cpu is always below 50c and video card is always below 50c(both have aftermarket coolers). as for video card drivers I have tried 12.10 and 12.11 beta 8. I am also using cap 11 atm. I ran mem86 over night and found 0 errors and OCCT (large) the next night and it found 0 errors too; I have also ran the games file check as well(not steams). like I said it is only locking up in this game. I thought about uninstalling it on steam and downloading it directly through the download manger but not sure if that will fix it or not. only other choice is to reformat but I really do not want to do that unless i have to.. computers spec's are the following: windows 7 64, i5 750, p55 motherboard, 8 gig of ram, hd7970 video card, a seasonic 660 psu, sound blaster x-fi titanium sound card, g110 keyboard and a g600 mouse. software that is running : logitech gaming software, eset smart security, steam, intel rapid storage. also, steams community thing is enabled too. windows error report shows 0 errors in the last 24 hours, except the one related to the computer crashing. edited: for more info thanks for the help
I doubt it would have anything to do with Steam, as it still starts up through the launcher, but anything is possible, if you try it and it fixes the issue please let me know. I've been having the same issue with the same rough time pattern for when it occurs. I've been watching it very closely to see if there is anything specific that happens and causes the crash, but so far I haven't been able to narrow it down. It's absolutely frustrating, as it always seems to happen at the worse time possible, like right before I throw a grenade into a pile of infantry, or right before a base cap or right after I spawn a vehicle...grrr I have a stable system and while I have the occasional game CTD, I can't even recall the last game I've played that totally locked up my system. I really hope this gets resolved soon and on the top 10 priority list of bug fixes.
