You notice that the range gets shorter the more you steer the rocket? The thing has enough fuel to fly for 300 m, then it runs out of gas and.....idk, either vanishes or detonates. Point is 300m is a good distance.....in a straight line. Every twist and turn, everytime you go up or down your burning fuel. So if you go up 50m, that means your effective distance is now only 250m. Course chances are good you still have to drop the rocket back down those 50 m, say if infantry are hiding behind a rock and you're trying to fly over the rock and land it on top of them. So now your range is only 200m, because you burned 100m worth of fuel going up 50m, then down 50m.

As the video shows you can't just keep it inside a 300m range and fly around forever. You have a range of 300m in all directions, but the second you start to turn that missile, the max range you can hit at drops every second. So long distance shots can really only be made if you fly in a straight line.

After watching the demo I think all ESL work well, not owerpowered, but can bring a barrel of fun (even the TR one).
I don't know why people cry about it before it is even out. Have you tested it personaly...in big battles? In the demo he is fireing on stationary dummy targets, just to show us the mechanics and the looks of the weapons. You have to experiment with solo and squad tactics to use it.

That was my first tought too, when I heard about it. Its good to know it doesn't have the the splash radious of one, but I like the camera guided missile thing. I wonder how easy will it be to shoot it down (with small arms fire)? It looks quite fast moving.

Will be funny if (NC) HAs start agreeing with ESF pilots about Bursters being overpowered.

Your math is off, but you nailed the concept.

Every faction will have something frustrating for the other faction when the rocket launchers are out. It will bring a nice asymmetric aspect that is missing a lot right now.

People will complain the Lancer is too fact and owns at range, people will complain the Striker has to much dps, can hit air easily then people will complain about how NC can instagib infantry while hiding.

Now you might think it's frustrating to get insta gibbed and it is, but it's just one of these many things that does. Beside you always have to keep moving in this game and the devs said all the rocket launchers will have low AoE because they are not intended to own infantry so if you do your job you shouldn't get OHK. Also, the huge xp bonus on vehicles now might make people think twice about wasting time on low xp targets like infantry.

It's a bug in the game, sometimes rockets leave no trail which is extreamly annoying if you're in a vehicle

NC Phoenix is working as intended.
I had feared its return, but it needs to be exactly what Higby showed it to be.

TR Striker seems to fire too slow considering its disadvantages against the other empires weapons.

I love the style though, visually they all look fantastic, very happy with the strikers looks from a TR perspective.

I think the VS launcher is the coolest. Gonna pop out and blast you, duck back behind the hill and pop back up a little distance away. Catch me if you can :p

I played NC primarily for access to the phoenix in PS1. Yes it is and needs to be worth the SC used to buy it.

I don't know math, I only know the sound it makes when it kills a man.

Wow. The escalation of power in this game is ridiculous. There is going to be blood on the forums come this weekend. For sure, armor zergs are finished. NC on Helios now have all the firepower they need to gate camp VS and TR on Helios at the same time.
  12. Phrygen

thats not a bug, thats render distances making rockets invisible.
  13. Hosp

    You mean Connery.

anyone else notice whilst it ws a 90 degree turn it was not an instant 90 degree but more of an arcing turn.....

What amazing turnability? It handles like a submarine in jelly on that vid.
  16. Patrician

Wow! Let's get it in game and see how it actually performs on the battlefield before crying "nerf" shall we?

Everyone is so worried about the NC launcher. It's not a big deal. While 50 NC are lined up with their Phoenix, hiding behind a ridge, just get a Galaxy, cruise up to 500m and rain death on them. They won't even see you because they will be stuck guiding their missile, and you will be out of range of it. LOL TR can still get you, but I see NC being wide open to Gal and Lib fire as long as they stay above 300 M.
  18. MaxDamage

That moment you sneak up behind an NC with his phoenix, wait for him to fire, then knife him.
    I've missed that.
  19. Patrician

Just because you think shotguns are OP does not mean that they are!
  20. Vertabrae

Actually not a bad idea. Air power won't be as effective against TR/VS. VS can now snipe at aircraft and have a decent chance to hit, TR can lock on spam as they used to do with the Anni. The NC won't be very effective in the anti air role at all provided the pilot is either up high or not hovering down low. So air might be one of the best ways to deal with mass NC, assuming most of them are using the Phoenix.
