Phoenix amazing turnability @ 90 degrees + Instant kill = The most OP weapon in the game!!!!!!

Using kid or kiddo to try and sound superior instantly makes you lose most of your credibility and come off as some sort of try hard that needs ad hominem attacks to back up his points (something you are also lacking).

This will sound childish, but he called people kid first.
The only point I've brought so far to this discussion is that the OP is exaggerating and that just because he was right once doesn't mean he will be right again.

The missile can only fly 300M and will then self detonate, seeing the speed it turns in the video it's unlikely to fly much further after a 180 degree turn.
It's going to do the same damage against tanks as the default launchers, so about 1700 damage and a bit more to aircraft.

However, anything else we can say about it is meaningless because WE HAVE YET TO GET IT.

To say if it's UP or OP now is meaningless and idle speculation, and especially exageration like the OP does in his original post won't help any discussion.

Honest to god, I can't believe people are crying about something that HASN'T EVEN BEEN USED IN GAME YET AND NOBODY KNOWS HOW EFFECTIVE IT WILL OR WILL NOT BE.

Jesus effin' christ on a pushbike...

The video showed the third of the three. Your picture is misleading, and aimed at making your point appear correct, when infact it is a total misrepresentation of the video that was displayed.

The turn radius is tighter than in PS1, however the flight distance seems a lot lower.
  6. irishroy

you have more than 3 lock-on rounds... so don't complain.
  7. Being@RT

To keep with the PSA, here's one:
    One hex is 333m
AV lockon launchers currently in game have 500m lockon range
AA lockon launchers have 400m lockon range
Engineer AV turret has render distance range (afaik)

Phoenix will have 300m flight distance, at which point the projectile self destructs
Lancer looks to have render distance range
Striker I'm unclear on (400 or 500m range. Or either, depending on target type)

For anyone who think some launcher is op I recomend watching video again and listen about advantages and disadvantages of each launcher. I know I'm not going to enjoy being damaged from vs/tr ones because there will be alot of them since they tease so much and people still have certs saved from double xp weekend + vehicle xp increase. There will be alot of people with new launchers, prepare for alot of moaning and tears, all I have to say.
  9. centurionvi

Pff AV turrets have already rendered tanks extinct, so the jokes on them!
  10. Ash87

Because it didn't have a very good turning radius. It can turn 90 degrees, yes, but I fail to see how this is some game changing thing. Rounds from the lock on launchers can turn 90 degrees, and do much quicker.

so much win in these rocket launchers :D
i could watch the Phoenix Reload animation for hours. Clack-Clonk, come on Baddies
even the loading trigger returning in position automatically at successful reload, hmhm worth every single cert

anyone else thinks the AV turret missile should be destroyable aswell just like the phoenix one? :)
  12. pucwyczes

    torok, they should be
  13. Takoita

Lack of dumbfire on the Striker is a party-pooper. Still, we'll need to playtest for real first.
  14. JonnyAFKay

OP is being sarscastic right...? The turning circle on that thing is abzolutely balls.
  15. JonnyAFKay

    You are an idiot.
  16. NightmareP69

I really don't understand why people keep saying the ESRLs are OP, they all seem to be fairly balanced . Actully i kinda consider them to be fairly weak from what the video showed, it takes ages to blow up a vehicle.

I think they all looked good.

I think they SOUNDED even better. OMG. The NC and VS launchers had such an awesome bassy sound.

Performance wise - they all seemed pretty good.

The NC one lacked its old turning radius which is good; but I was a little surprised at how short its range was before self destructing. It will work well in base fights but not in the transitional tank battles in the open.

The TR one looked pretty great. "But it brings nothing new! It just has more DPS!" Yea thats true but I can't imagine the tears that we would be drowning in if it had the worst DPS. The fact that it locks on to Air seals the deal for me. I hate pod spammers with a passion and anything that aides me in ruining their day is good in my book. The fact that you can juke out 1 round for flares then fire your next 4 without reloading is pretty good. I'm almost more interested to see what 4 rounds of damage on ESF does rather than 5. But I think it should have its mag-dump functionality added in.

The VS one I have mixed feelings about - it's damage was meh, I didn't like the fact that its "charge up" consumed 3 rounds, rather than just making 1 round do 3x the damage - I think having ammo on hand and constant reloads might be an issue. That said its projectile velocity is insane and would be hands down the best weapon at ultra far ranges. I see alot of QQ coming from outfits using this weapon in unison. Also had the coolest reload and firing animation. Points for style?

ITS THE REDEEMER FROM UNREAL TOURNY!
  19. pucwyczes

redeemer had more splash damage and there was no vehicles in UT, range was kinda unlimited for map size
you could also fly it through tight corridors and make more than 180 degree turn inside less than 10 meters radius, OP :)

I just can't wait to see what these things are gonna to do the game. :D These weapons makes as much commotion as a presidential election. NC shooting behind trees and over hills. Vanu sniping any all aircraft they see. The striker will be like jackhammer, at rare times you see someone using it.
