Phaseshift VX-S for long range sniping

    Yeah, if you need to fire all 10 shots in CQC you're doing something wrong. That's 4000 damage on a target that needs 1/4 that to kill.

    TTK on 1000 hp enemy without headshots:
    Spectre = 0.52s
    Beamer = 0.66s

    Hipfire move COF:
    Spectre = 6.5
    Beamer = 1.0

    ROF:
    Spectre = 231 RPM
    Beamer = 451 RPM

    Yes, Spectre has good DPS. Its hipfire COF is so ridiculously bad though that in practice, TTK with Beamer will be far better, and that's not even considering headshots which the Beamer is fully capable of (hit ONE headshot and theoretical TTK is equal), nor does it take into account the fact that missing one shot with Spectre increases TTK massively, while missing one shot with Beamer matters very little.

    Well, i roll 6* zoom and got ice in my veins... i dont hipfire much, even point blank i average 3 shots 1 headshot 2 body on heavys... (yes with zoom) i can demorec so u can see how i C&C with spectre... (and no you CANT do that with Phasesh it)

    Dude

    Just a random drop to show u "dirty" sniping with spectre... i nuke dudes in my face... (just unlucky in the end) dont like to demorec cause i listen to iron maiden doing booring sniping, and look silly at times, but i can NOT listen to music and do 30+ killstreaks same way... Phaseshift is just ****... (im normally long distance parallax sniper but need spectre for glowing sniper rifle...)
  5. cruczi

    The only point blank fight I saw in that video was one where you hipfired. In any case, that video didn't even attempt to be a comparison between Spectre and Beamer (or another pistol) for CQC

    Even if you ADS with a 6x scope at point blank and call that more effective than a sidearm, I call BS. That sort of zoom is so ridiculous that you're never ever going to reach the same level of reliability than you can with a pistol. Sometimes you'll hit all three shots, sometimes you'll miss one shot which already puts Beamer ahead in TTK. It just doesn't matter if Phaseshift's ROF makes it worse in CQC; sniper rifle is still the wrong choice for CQC from an effectiveness standpoint.
  6. Vixxing

    that was one vid i took in 1 try
    i can do that **** for 1 day and really show u or even do a week and clip "best of" its like this! Spectre=better in close than any guns VS got but comissionar or that other commish gun! Phase ****= useless then feel free to videoproof me wrong... ( do it with style from dropscreen one take)
  7. Vixxing

    Dude, i got 7k+kills with Parallax im a SNIPER sniper... but if i have to run in ppls faces i wanna do it with a ******* Spectre not a face****... dont trap this poor soul into buying the WORST sniper rifle there is... (im auraxium all VS snipers BUT Phase**** and i own it)
  8. cruczi

    I guess I'm talking with a 13 year old?
  9. Shadowomega

    Vixxing not saying its not in a terrible spot, sayings its like the Spectre and the XM98 had a kid together.

    Spectre 400@8m, 260@200m Semi-auto, 570 m/s
    Phaseshift 400@8m, 260@200m Semi-auto, 550 m/s

    XM98 650@10m, 400@350m Bolt Action, 550 m/s
    Phaseshift (Charged) 650@10m Charge, 400@350m, 550 m/s
    One shot kill range is around 200m

    Besides increasing shots before over heating from 5 to 9, I think they should give it access to the 1x-4x scopes.

    What would be your changes Vixxing?
  10. MotionBlured

    I would main my Phaseshift if it had a 4x scope. /wet dream

    Phaseshift is not as bad as a lot of people want to make it out to be, but it is lackluster in the camper role that others have used. The Phaseshift is a guerilla rifle, best used in unexpected places where the enemy is off balance and not prepared to for sniper fire. The charge-up time is about half a second and can be trimmed to allow near instant charge shots, so that downside can be compensated for, but the same can not be said for the bullet velocity. It is bad, and coupled with a scope that has no mildots, it is hard to accommodate shots at variable patterns.

    Overall, the Faceshifter is a fun gun if used in a way the enemy isn't expecting, but is subpar in the backline killer role. I love it for its versatility and infinite ammo, relieving me of dangerous runs across open terrain and allowing me to stay threatening at all times.

    Max range is just under 200m, rule of thumb is if the target's head is smaller than the dot, you will not kill them with one shot unless they are hurt.
    It takes about .4secs to charge a lethal shot, contrary to the claims of most people.
    You are best adding the suppressor as the lack of being heard, seen or you kill's having any idea where you are is removed, for the cost of a slower bullet.

    If you want to make great use of it, use it in fights where you can shoot down one or two people from where you won't be flanked/found quickly and then change positions. Don't waste a charge on a moving target, tap them!

    ADVANCED USE
    Use the long charge on targets that are moving back and forth, or in and out of cover. Release as they reappear to kill them.
    The 6x scope means that within 100m you need to 'quick-scope' on to targets. Look directly at a target whilst begining a charge, by placing your hip-fire crosshair over them, you will scope in on them. By the time you have scoped in and adjusted the chest or head, the shot is lethal and ready!

    TL;DR
    It requires experience with the weapon, and experimentation to learn it's quirks. Read the post to get a head-start!

    The shaking is either you aren't holding Sprint/Steady, or you held it too long! Phaseshift has minimum lethal charge time, but I think that reduces the velocity by not fully charging it. Not by much however!

    You realize you just revived a thread from 2 years ago.. Right?
  14. K'Tnae

    I am aware, however I've seen alot of misinformation/lack of knowledge on the Phaseshift. I'm putting in my comment in the hopes OP will read it, as well as anyone else who happens on this thread, will gain a better understanding with the weapon.
  15. Foxirus

    Believe it or not, the Phaseshift was actually given a stealth nerf.

    It's bullet now entirely drops off at 400m and it's range was dropped to 220/180m from 230/190m (unsilenced/silenced). The old range it had was about 500m before the bullet derendered.

    If you want a good sniper with very little drop, switch factions and get the railjack.
  17. Donaldson Jones

    It's really not worth it in it's current state. In semi auto the fire on release mechanic is really strange and in sniper mode it's max OHK is around 200 m which is ok but the exposure isn't worth it.

    Even using a silencer is terrible if you ignore the horrible muzzle velocity and medium range effectiveness the gun still makes noise on charge up that gives away your position. Just don't do it.
  18. asmodraxus

    All 60 users can't be wrong the Phasexcrement must be a good weapon unlike the Failjack with its paltry 650 odd users.
