People logging out and back in to avoid deaths...

    I won a moral victory perhaps, but i am playing a game with rules, and by those rules i do not win when the opponent quits before letting me finish. Writing in caps or color doesnt make your opinion more meaningfull.
    And yes i want the xp, because i want to progress and buy new shingy things. Thats what half the game is about. If there wasnt that i would have quit the game long ago because there are more interesting shooters with less idiots out there... If you

    Eve online solved this problem by keeping your ship in space for several minutes if you logged out after having recently been in a fight with another player.

    But if a player logs out on me, I really don't care...he will still come back in to respawn screen or warpgate so I have done my job to temporarily put him out of the fight.

    And with players like daddy I have never heard it said, "Oh man that daddy player is good I respect him so much."

    except there is really no way to definitively prove if a player logged out to avoid death or not. And what constitutes logging out to avoid death? a player falling to thei death is easy to determine and logging out before hitting the ground is easy. What about in the middle of a 1v1 fire fight? what about if a player is within 10 meters of an enemy. What about 20 meters? what if a player runs into a corner then logs out? Then lets get more complex... can players log out if they are in an amp station fight or do that literally have to die/redeploy before logging out? what constitutes being in combat, when the game doesn't determine it through set parameters? Can a GM even tell the difference between a client crash and logging out?

    And it certainly isn't a GMs job to have to try and figure out those distinctions.

    Its on SOE to add a logout timer.

    There is massive proof to know when they do it. All the data is saved in game to show SOE when players are abusing it. SOE can see if the client has had a game crash, logged out normally, or they are logging out when their HP is low near a certain death. Its clear to see who abusers it , and who don't , like other games they have timers to stop it, simple solution.

    But so many high BR ranked players do it, many with macros, SOE don't want to put something in and ban all those players who spent so much money on the game and are running at top of leaderboards. It's a sad situation but this is a F2P game.

    If you quit the game, log off, or drop connection. It should count as death.
    Why not?

    A good player rarely dc's or crashes so often that it makes up even 10% of their deaths.
    As such, why isn't this already incorporated? It would only affect fools that do it on purpose.

    Absolutely! I propose that, when you kill an enemy player, that player is forcibly logged out of the game and you receive no reward except the satisfaction of knowing that the "enemy is now gone".

    I find it quite bizarre that you would even attempt to portray what would have been a legitimate kill in a legitimate fight as stat padding. That's a remarkably lame counter argument.

    It's silly really. What's the point of having a high K/D if you're known for logging out before death? As if K/D wasn't unimportant enough, there's people who are delaying their ability to help their allies over it.

    It's a video game. If you want to argue about what's worth crying about, then I'll argue that absolutely nothing is worth crying about (including crying about people crying about things you, personally, find unimportant). This may not be the biggest flaw in the game, but it needs to be corrected, just like any other flaw.

    if anything I wish MORE people would start doing this... not only does it remove them from the battle longer as they now have to spawn back at the WG but maybe we will get lucky and all the "look at my KDR" kids will get frustrated and leave over it... win-win

    right now all we have is one kid crying because his pointless stats aren't going up because another kid is doing something to prevent his pointless stats from going down... the only actual sensible thing to do would be to remove the root of the problem... the pointless stat people are getting so butt-hurt over

    No one who plays PS2 is totally stupid. So let them log out rather than die.

    Daddy, for example may have a high KDR but he is the least respected player in PS2, even his own team show contempt for him.

    If they stop allowing people to log out to avoid death how will we know who the jokes on our server are?

    No, there is something wrong with YOU.

    Try playing games for years with NO XP, NO REWARDS, NO BADGES, NO CONGRATULATORY SOUNDS, then maybe you might understand why I just think this is one big circle-jerking whinefest.

    Man, this must make up a lot of XP for some of you people, if it bothers you so much. I was the same with the deconstruct nerf thread; I said 'who cares'.. If they deconstructed, same thing. I WON. I dont need all this xtra stuff to get satisfaction out of a game.

    I don't care if they bail. most times they die.. If not I finish them off. I guess the petition to remove Bail out from the game, so now these whiners want to fabricate some epidemic of logger outers.

    I couldn't care less if there is a log out timer or not. What I care about is how the river of tears flow from people who just aren't good enough to finish the job on an enemy pilot then cry about it.

    Understand.

    If the enemy wants to deny you your klll, XP or w/e stupid thing you think is happening, he's just going to find another way, like crashing into the ground (NOPE NERF SUICIDES).. bail out (NOPE NERF BAILOUTS) , allegedly logs out (NERF LOGOUTS), rams you (WAH NERF RAMMING), dodges your bullets (NERF STEERING), kills you (NERF HIS WEAPONS), etc, etc, etc

    This just goes on and on and on. LIke the kid in the schoolyard who just can't win, so has to keep changing the rules to try. Pathetic. Stop whining, start playing.

    Once again, if you don't agree that does not make the rest of us wrong. I have already stated that the XP is a minor issue, and the principle of the matter is the biggest. You say I won? That is not what I think. Please quit trolling so hard as well and using colored text as if it helps your argument. This is an exploit and it needs to be fixed, people should not be able to game the system to have insanely high K/D's that are not legitimate. Considering how easily they could add this fix, I have no idea why you are crying about this idea so much.
