im really trying to be nice this time and not jump on the bashing fanboy wagon. But i do take issues with over 6 hours and not a single update. This is bad practice and is unacceptable in just about any real business, and this is a business right? I really think most would move on and accept that somthing out of your controll happend, IF YOU TOLD US!!!
As soon as there is an ETA they will let us know, according to the last transmission- so we aren't even close to having an ETA, so they have no idea what the problem is, or they just punched out at 5pm and said a big f u to all of us junkies waiting for news
While I too am disappointed in the down time we have had to deal with, Cut the devs some slack. Those guys are gods compared to the monkeys over at Piranha Games who are currently working on MechWarrior Online. They have broken every single promise they made to their community and have yet to make one single deadline (I kid ye not) they have set for themselves. Go play MWO and look at all the failure they have made that game into. Look at all the disappointment they have caused the fanbase over serious ignoring of their community. Its just a money grab for them, They don't care about anything else. SOE on the other hand, They have their moments and they at least listen to us. When someone brings something up that gets enough hits on a forum, Devs at least acknowledge that they will consider it. Try to do that with guys at Piranha Games and you will get spat on. Further research even shows their community is trying to petition Microsoft to revoke their IP rights for MechWarrior. http://www.gamefront.com/petition-calls-microsoft-to-pull-mechwarrior-from-piranha-games/ Sure we have moments when we just want to bite the devs, But some of the comments people are making are seriously uncalled for. Go play MechWarrior Online for a bit, You will quickly gain respect for what SOE does. Anyways! I have not had my fix of planetside today *Raises flaming pitchfork* Release the Server locks! (We love you devs!)
Nothing new or having to do with their 'maintenance.' Most likely new reg files. You think they'd get it. SOE, is a perfect example of corporate incompetence.
Do you have a special hate on for Piranha? It's a hilarious coincidence that you mention them by the way..
I seriously doubt Piranha is anything close to the size of SOE. It's ******* shameful, Valve makes them look like a the biggest group of morons. With probably less resources...
It's ok to rabble. Now is a legitimate time to rabble. I can't play game, so I'm rabbling instead until I want to be amused by something else.
No big deal. I just played Minecraft today. We have a household LAN server thats always on. Bright side is, after a couple days of down time, the servers should be extra full of people to kill certs to earn.
Piranha had about 50 employees when I left them in 2009 and I know a couple of the guys still there. They moved to a new office since then but they can't be over 100 employees.
Yeah, That is no excuse. PGI were DONATED more than enough money to make the game a thousand times better than what it is now. As for valve, I think they even helped increase their player base. Its just a money grab to PGI sadly. And before someone attacks me for dogging on that "Small Company". I played Mechwarrior Living Legends, a game made by private modding communities with no where near the money that "Small Company" PGI has. PGI threatened them if they did not stop releasing updates. I saw the original post by one of the main modders for the MWLL work team. I saw it before PGI tried to play it cool like they were innocent and made him edit out what he said in his post about why they were stopping. Alot of us saw it, So we know PGI's threats were why they stopped.
It's only Tuesday at their time and everyone knows real work starts on Wednesday, or I can't remember if it's Thursday since Wednesday is a long drag in the middle of the week and Thursday means next day is Friday yay and then weekend, so maybe Monday. Please give them some more time everyone.
Ok, I know you're doing your best to make the servers up as fast as possible but please just tell us what's going wrong. The maintenance is obviously longer than expected and we need some information about the situation. Nobody's perfect, it's ok if you did mistakes at some point, but it'll be easier to understand if it doesn't feel like you've turned up your cloaking device. I just subscribed a week ago, plz don't make me regret that
