If you legitimately can't understand the difference between being shot while on foot and getting ganked by multiple players with thousands of hours of flight time the moment you spawn, there is no helping you. On the ground, anyone and everyone has a chance to get the best of someone else. In the air, that poor sod was dead the moment your gank squad lazily drifted their direction. They have no recourse, they have no ability to fight back, and 99% of the time they won't even manage to point their weapon in your direction before they are dead. It leaves your victim with that distinct feeling of helplessness that absolutely will drive them away from air altogether, and potentially the game completely, if they are a flying enthusiast. Would you stick around if there was some force out there that was preventing you from flying more than 60 seconds every 20 or so minutes?

And yes, they are your victims. Not opponents, not competitors, victims. You represent an insurmountable enemy that they can only hope to avoid long enough to get some modicum of flight experience in. You already know this, but the vast majority of your victims aren't showing back up in the air not because fear of how pro you are, but because they simply can't. They're out of resources, their timers still have 10+ minutes on them, or perhaps they just said "**** it" and logged off. So yes, I absolutely will place blame on the self proclaimed skygods that roll around in groups mercilessly smacking down anything unfortunate enough to be in front of them for hurting the air game. I'm not going to tell you to stop doing what you're doing, but try to practice some form of discretion. Let them at least FEEL like they had a chance, even though they of course never did. Its not like you're ever in any danger yourself, not with the other five of you watching your back.

    +1!

Oh and btw: If u are TR or NC on Cobalt and ever got reported for killing someone right after leaving the warpgate, yes, that was probably me!

Nope. Kill all ESFs on sight. Sorry if that is a problem. It's planetside, not my lil pony combat arms. (LOL, "victims". A bit dramatic)
Get better in the air or die. Fly with others if you need an advantage. It isn't rocket science.
It's not anyone's job to tone down their accuracy so someone else can learn to fly at the expense of their own game time. Unless they wanna pay me some shekels to not blast them out the sky immediately then no thanks. I am certain it would go over well if I went to a tanking thread and said "hey chaps, how about don't hit me with every AP round in my Vanguard so I can get better, after all you are a career tanker and Im just getting started."

It is no one's responsibility but their own to get better.

Flying VS or TR without a few backup wingman is terrifying on Emerald right now. I haven't had a Scythe or Mozzie last more than 5 minutes at best. Reaver on the other hand... 20 minutes or more. Libs can last me all night with some care.
  5. DualDesertEagle

DUDE, FACE IT, THEY CAN'T IF U PUT THEM DOWN ON SIGHT!
  6. [NNG]WillTerry

When I started flying people constantly shot me down. Top pilots were already br60 or so. Yet I still managed to improve. Its not for everyone. It's not participation trophy simulator is it?

This is what some "Aces" like to believe. I am a lib pilot myself, and Skygaurds have been nerfed enough I think. I get shot by them ALL the time. And guess what i do??? I leave the area, plot a new strafing point then move on my target.

Basically to you "Ace" pilots use your HEADS and come up with solutions to problems. Guess what Skyguards are AA, Anit-Air, Denial of Airspace. Meaning YOU CAN'T FLY THERE'

    DEAL WITH IT

    Enjoy your backwards flying

Try playing War Thunder and you will never bother pulling an ESF in PS2 ever again.

Warthunder gave me a big meh.
  10. GaBeRock

The difference is, you didn't have outfits like QRY and PREY camping warpgates with 4-8 people. It's not a problem for me, since I have lots of experienced pilots on my friends list, and I fly with several people who own skyguards and flak sundies, but it really screws over new players.

I don't want skill nerfed in the airgame, but hopefully the resource revamp eliminates campers.
  11. GaBeRock

played it, gave up on it. The grind is positively easy in ps2 compared to warthunder.

If you want your WG cleared, get in the turrets. Pretty simple. You can also....................redploy somewhere else. Its almost like SOE made it so you can leave any base at any time. Amazing.
  13. NeonNoodle

Can't we just agree ESF controls are some of the most unintuitive garbage controls in the game. Patient people have proven that if you spend enough time getting a feel for them, it pays off. If they tried revamping the controls it would be a big step in the right direction (for the majority of players). The patient minority would take a serious hit, but this would still be better than endlessly buffing "x" and nerfing "y".
  14. GaBeRock

again, it's not hard for me, with my flight buddies, to clear a warpgate. It is, however, very difficult for newer pilots, who haven't yet found people to fly with. If you want to fly in gank squads-okay, I'd just prefer that you did it closer to your own territory, so newer pilots at least get some travel time. This is, for me, one of the saving graces of the resource revamp. If someone tries to camp a warpgate, they won't be getting any resources, meaning killing them matters that much more.
  15. GaBeRock

controls should stay the same, but I wouldn't be against an option to bind mouse to yaw instead of roll.
  16. [NNG]WillTerry

We will fly wherever we want and shoot down anyone in the way. Forum essays wont convince anyone that killing the enemy is somehow bad or unethical.
  17. GaBeRock

you'll do whatever you want, but you won't be getting any resources for it, so I'm okay.
  18. [NNG]WillTerry

You get plenty of resources, what are you even talking about.
  19. GaBeRock

have you read the resource revamp thread? You get resources from either the hex you're in (if it's freindly) or the closest adjacent friendly hex. If no friendly hexes are adjacent, you don't get resources. Plus, being in a vehicle "reserves" a portion of your resources (so your resources can't go to max) and drains some of your resources (so your resources actually drop if you're not getting any.) On the plus side, aquisition timers are being removed and refunded.

All in all, it's very beneficial to new pilots.

There are a number of problems with Skygods.

    1. There really is no counter other than another Skygod (other than just going infantry only). There's a reason this unit still needs nerfing because nothing else in the game can kill everything well and still go on 50-100+ killstreaks.

    2. Lock on missiles should **** a nose gun only aircraft but don't. You're supposed to have flares because you need them. There should be a long range anti air missile that has good range and will follow an air target for 2-3 KM. (OR we need to have air mines. No I'm quite serious here....... Why are there no air mines?) Look at modern warfare. Nose guns on planes are a relic compared to the missiles. Why does this game have it backwards?

    3. Fighters can just leave if they don't like an area. No other unit in the game can really do this. They are too fast (and not fragile enough for being so fast). Having super speed and maneuverability is like being invisible while mounted on a horse when everyone else is "running" in full plate.

    4. Skyguards should KILL fighters in seconds.... instead they only kinda sorta but not really maim. You need Paper, rock, scissors. That gives you planes, tanks, skyguards. Each has a specific role and a purpose. They might have changed things but the last time I checked Skyguards really only kill infantry of your own faction that get in your way. You only "damage" everything else.

    5. The Air brake just needs to go because it makes the vehicle too good. What we need is a dedicated "Jet" that flies like traditional aircraft (make it very fast) which basically means almost too fast for ground combat. Make the current air fighter into a helicopter. Cut the speed so it can't zoom away without the fuel tanks form AA missiles. Let it keep all the fancy moves with less health and less speed. Then what you would have are Jets that cruise around looking for helicopters (skygods) but can't really do much to ground. The biggest problem is that a dedicated plane right now kills everything with impunity. It may as well be an orbital satellite; the only thing you can do is wait for it to go away because nothing you have will actually kill it. The biggest reason people quit this game was because they catered to air aces over and over and over again.
