More Anti-MAX weapons.. No thanks - MAX's are so easy to kill it's not even funny.
More Anti-Lightning weapons... sure lets make Lightnings completely USELESS.

The only Infantry that should have Sniperrifles are Infilitrators.. period !.

The logic is that you're dealing with a semi-auto these are way less polyvalent and slower on the trigger/dps, therefore the shield will give you a resilient edge under all situations

The introductions of weapons like this is to add something that has no other purpose than to just add something to a game.

Something for the masses to Auraxium or an option to complete in a class Directive.

What you're going to get is a crap-load of people buying this thing to shoot at tanks, like the Lancer.

They'll pile up in groups which don't require an ounce of teamwork and plink away to their hearts content.

How will they justify a weapon like this in use against infantry? Surely, this thing would one-shot any infantry even with a body hit.

Maybe they'll make is so the more armor a target has, the more damage it does. If you run around with no armor, HEY! doesn't kill you outright.

    I have no idea.

In times of high pop, it'll get ridiculous, in times of low pop, less so.

And it doesn't matter at all which class gets such a thing since everyone is only a few meters from a terminal in this game.

To me, someone, somewhere thinks this is cool and it will sell or be a cert drain.

And cert drains are very important now since people simply have too much and they need people to spend SC.

I get it, but all this thing is going to do is cause people to have class envy seizures and rabid discussions here and elsewhere.

In the end, this thing is absolutely pointless...

...other than to give some factions a half-baked lancer alternative?

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

If this is for my infiltrator, there is a high chance that i would come back to this game.

I don't see why this needs to be complicated with the whole "it must replace X and Y functionality before it can be equipped".

You know what would make this weapon sell more easily? If it simply replaced the primary like any other weapon that isn't a pistol. This way it can be more easily balanced as such as well.

As for who would be getting it, as primarily vehicle driver when I play PS2, I have no objections to Infiltrators having it, however, it does muddy the waters a lot as every class is starting to become a counter for everything. I'd rather have infiltrators see their tool selection expanded in the areas of scouting, intelligence gathering and sharing, infiltration and assassination. This would include drones becoming an Infiltrator-exclusive.

That leaves Heavy Assaults and Engineers. Now I think it goes without saying that HA's already have the biggest AV loadout available to them, and them needing a dedicated AV primary in addition to C4 and rockets might be a little bit overkill - In fact, this might be a reason for many people to not even want a 3rd AV tool in their loadouts as it would diminish their AI capability greatly, making a fully dedicated AV heavy a bit of a niche loadout.

I think Engineers gaining this as a primary weapon makes a lot of sense. Engineers don't have a class ability, their trait is versatility in loadouts, and a light-weight AV primary suits that quite well. It would certainly present the most compelling option for players, where HA's don't really need or want it, Engineers never really had anything like this before and given their proximity to vehicles most of the time, they might pick it up at the cost of avoiding infantry battles.

But honestly, I think the Light Assault should be given a fair consideration for this type of weapon. The fact that they can position themselves better than any class means that an AV primary would be an interesting gameplay choice for LA players, focus on infantry, or vehicles?

    Just my thoughts anyhow.

Come on man, be a little honest.
I'm quite angry that a harasser survives a rocket+AV grenade atm. Considering the mobility, firepower, and cheapness.
This thing would be a modest counter to harassers & maxes mainly: less damage than a rocket, but easier to hit with normally.
Against tanks etc, the damage will be very low, so not like the lancer.
    -> Absolutely not pointless

Now, as for one-shotting infantry with a body hit:
do you think infantry survives direct hits from a 40mm grenade?
    How about from a 75mm tank gun?(viper)
And, as much as I hate current air, how about a nice rocketpod to the face? Or the noseguns etc.
Currently, it is possible to survive a RL hit with flak armor.

--> No, if DBC has any clue for balance, this thing will not bodyshot-killt. See also: Phoenix.
IF, IF they put it on test server with bodykill, they will quickly get a sh!tstorm or nerfcalls, and will have to adjust it.

    Looks good.

I hope it won't be on infil if it's an AV weapon.

Replacing the "tool" of HA and Engie is a good idea.
