We traded C-4 for tank mines. So Sundys are still vulnerable to a single attacker. This game never fails to disappoint.
Well, as a tank mine carrier, i think it's fair. Because other than a C4 fairy, an engineer has to run up to the Sunderer, on the ground opposed to coming in from the sky, get inside the shield and then it still takes time to drop 3 tank mines and blow them up. For every exploding Sunderer you see, there are 4 or 5 attempts which didn't work. And tank mines are not exactly cheap, when it comes to nanite costs.
ANT rushes still help alot in getting the engineers in fast since they still got GSD and AV armor combo they can use to get around deployable defenses around enemy spawns. Avoidance implant can also protect the engineer from spitfires and AI mines completely and they also carry sticky grenades to help detonate the tank mines. All this won't work or matter in the active hours though so that why you don't see it used much. People generally rather farm infantry kills than to destroy spawns in off hours so... yea. Also there's usually that one hacker who flips tanks etc or sends them to moon in active hours on Emerald so sundies are useless if he around and you better off using beacons.
Anything to **** over C4 tbh. I'm happy to return to the days of my engineer not using C4. C4 is too widely available, literally only one class can't use it. Tank mines are an okay compromise, and they take more effort to pull off.
OOF. If this is true, then this update was a tremendous failure. Because you have Covert Drop implant to hide underneath Sunderer, Avoidence Implant may as well be added to protect against Spitfire turrets, and we are back to square one.... Which is ultimately a made-up issue lol. And on top of this failure, the Sunderer additions are leading up to nowhere, do not provide additional resources to improve our game generally, and is simply all about Sunderers with an absolutely ultra failed design. (The Cargo dropped appears to be limited to Spitfire dimensions, cannot be larger, like a Phalanx Turret... Um maybe reactive armor could be used to mimic tank components by being invisible in the background, but it doesn't appear that'll happen... I wonder why the developers didn't make the reactive armor act similarly to a (deploy) shield type covering the Sunderer as the sperate hitpoints, because that could be applied to mimic tank components, current design not so much, because being one tapped by a warhead and getting disabled would be utterly stupid)
