So I was very excited for the new update, and on vacation when it went through. As soon as I got home I started the download to check it out. First impression was good, infantry play felt smoother than ever. I was landing shots and getting some kills I normally wouldn't. But then I got in a tank. The shell drop didn't matter, and even plays as an advantage for some dug in enemies. But it's just so weak, not even direct hits to infantry kill them. Wow. I don't have suggestions on how to fix it, it just isn't for me anymore. I really like where infantry is, more solid than ever. But I think vehicles need more work. Not a game ender for me, but my desire to pick this over something else is really starting to drop.
I feel ya man. That happened with me on HA. The rocket launcher lock on range is terrible now. You basically need to be on top of target for it lock. Only reason I use HA is for the rocket launcher so, now that it is useless, I don't play HA anymore. Also, the constant VR waiting, only one continent open at a time (most times when I'm on), the rocket launcher range nerf, and no TR wins while I'm on (no win = no reward so no reason to be on if not winning) pretty much took the fun from PS2 for me. I am walking away for now, and hopefully in the future they make it fun again for me so that I can return.
If the rocket launcher is useless then I'm really confused, I've been killing aircraft and tanks constantly with the new setup and awesome reload speed of the ML-7. Way better than it used to be.
If you need to be winning to have fun then you're probably playing the wrong game. That's especially true of this game where you're such a small drop of water in the ocean.
It kinda is a game-ender for me. I mostly left infantry play in 2014 after it became irrelevant. Well more like a short while after the botched, and never finished "resource revamp". Territory no longer has any value so why fight over it. Game have been a slippery-slope every since that. Played a lot of sundy, then I migrated to harassers and loved that, auraxed them, started tanking some - auraxed that, feeling less and less incentivated to play due to lack of interaction between vehicles, air and infantry. Missing 2013 and my platoons having a tank group, and air group an infantry platoon and a couple of spec ops infantry squads. You know: what was called Planteside 2. If it wasnt for the maps being the same I barely reconginze this TDM I am playing in 2017 as the same game. I really wanna play infantry again, but it's so hard to run platoons now. All the teamwork players have left, mostly just farmfits and randoms left. New players leave as soon as they get over the oooh effect of the game and see what the gameplay is like. Now that the devs waste time on changes not needed, while being further away than ever from sorting the issues that has plagued this game since launch on the tactical and strategical level I don't know how to entertain myself. Too bad I probably have 5 or so 6 month boosts laying about that I haven't used yet. Because why bother? This entire combined arms bs is so badly concievend and excecuted it kinda made me lose all faith. Wrel said in 2016 the game needed a re-launch. Well we are in 2017 and the game is more like a beta than ever so I guess thats for 2019? And stuff like nerfing furys and bulldogs? wtf? Who in their RIGHT MIND thought those weapons were op? Yes, if a galaxy is allowed to hover over a base in a small fight spamming the cap with bulldogs then it's op. It's also incredibly easily countered. GG devs. Really, no sarcasm at all...
Wait, how is that related to what he said at all? He just said infantry was great, vehicles felt like poop. What?
Never EVER underestimate the value of one player in this game. Example? Cobalt, 2017, Vanu. Trident's (TRID) ColbertNation1 have pretty much stopped playing and he was their prime platoon commander. Context: Out of Miller, Emerald and Cobalt - Cobalt is the least teamwork-focused server. Out of Vanu Trident is the only vanu outfit still having the numbers and the organization left to be a force to recon with: The result of ONE player leaving is that Vanu is now completely unorganized and just a mess. We have become TR. Log on to Cobalt and watch TR and VS these days. There are no longer ANY organized large platoons with cohesion and a goal. It's a very clear indicator of the state of the game but also of the value of one player in this game. Thanks to ColbertNation1 for enduring leading for as long as he did. And I don't blame him one second for taking a break. It's not his job to give me a good gaming experience. That's Daybreaks job... It's been really eyeopening seeing how few ppl actually made Cobalt an ok place to play.
Well if VEP had some kind of organization, I'm sure VS from cobalt could do be far more effective. BTW, I see TRID, I upvote.
Your talking crap. Played just the other night with TTRO. Great command, great cohesion. Was an excellent nights gameplay ended with a harraser race and wining 2 continent locks.
