No Triple SC?

With Player Studio I'm pretty sure doubles and triples are no more. I never got a hard "we'll never do it again" answer, but I've been informed by SOE staff that they are trying to get away from double and triple SC sales to keep the value high and make sure everyone (SOE included) gets top-dollar for high-quality player-made items.

While I kinda understand the lack of 2x and 3x sales, the fact is that personally I was going to drop 50 euros on a 2x sale around Christmas, like I usually tend to do. But this year that 50 euros went into my Steam wallet instead.

But then again, I'm up to my neck in certs and the 500SC I get from membership each month is enough to buy whatever cosmetic I want at the time. So the lack of double or triple SC doesn't bother me that much. Currently I'm just waiting for the next batch of PS helmets to hit the depot, the hood+goggles looks promising for my infiltrator :)

With that said, I do really appreciate the 99SC and 1SC deals. I've bought some stuff I wouldn't have normally, and it shows that they are making an effort on their part to please and give something back to the community. Thanks SOE.

No where near as much as they loose when they do 2x and 3x SC.

I still found some great deals on stuff I wanted this year. Nobody buys steam items at full price? Of course some due but I get your point. I bet a lot (most?) don't buy PS2 items at full price either... they go on sale and we get them for half off.

Got some rediculous deals for 99 SC too; that's a crazy savings! Even the 50% sales for Christmas were pretty good. Like today it's all the MBT guns; that's amazing! I pickedup several helmets I'd never pay full price for.

Anyway where were last week? This was debated all over the forums already =P

There's no question whether or not players like yourself exist; they do, and it's a good thing. The question is whether such players alone are able to keep the game afloat, paying enough into the system to cover the costs of all the free riders, which now include all the people who only bought into the system when it offered significantly more value for each dollar spent. Historically, in MMOs, this hasn't been the case unless the game is experiencing significant, sustained growth.

Cutting prices for digital goods results in significantly increased, not lowered, total revenue.

I would say Sony could easily afford it. I would have rather paid for a 50 dollar PC game with expansion DLC than have everything a la carte. If you tried and purchased all of the content available for the game I am sure it would equal to several thousand dollars. That seems a bit extreme for a PC game that may or may not be around in a few years. Everyone knows freemium games generate crazy amounts of money, and it is a shame they had to go the route of Smurf's village on iphone. I do like the fact that anyone can play, and not pay if they wish, so everything is a trade off. However, it is really in the developers favor to piece meal weapons and content, because they make a fortune doing so.

I wanted to buy sunderer chassis light, esamir ice camo for infantry and some cash for the future.

The lack of 2x and 3x SC sales is not the problem, the prices of items in the shop are the problem. I could understand the pricing back when they were doing 2x and 3x SC sales. It seemed like it was set up very cleverly so that with a bit of patience you could actually get good value out of it, but at the same time it gave SOE steady income from derps who did not have the patience. They stopped doing the SC sales but didn't follow up with the logical next step, which is slashing prices.

Oh well. Put me into the "spent a lot during SC sales, will not be spending any more" group.

$7 for a gun is ridiculous. To be honest, $3.50 for a gun is ridiculous too, just slightly less so. Am I going to buy a single camo for $5? Nope! How many would I buy if each one cost 50 cents? Dozens. It seems pretty clear to me which would be more profitable, but apparently elementary school math is not SOE's strong suit.

If triple SC is really to expensive how about they at least do a double SC instead. that's the least they could do

2x is probably too rich when you consider all the 50% off sales going on, but I was hoping for at least a 50% bonus sale on xmas. I'm debating whether or not to top up my cash a bit just to last through to the end of the sale period for stuff I want to get, but otherwise, I'm with the crowd that says full price weapons are not worth it unless I can get the SC at a discount.

If the guns unlocked account wide for 700+ SC I wouldn't mind so much.

Sorry but this has nothing to do with this... But have you ever played a paladin in wow called Azriul?
