No place for ESF?

    Ah-ha! So 1-2 Bursters have issues dealing with 5-6 well co-ordinated ESFs!

    Seems like awesome balance right there to me... you just told us how 1-2 Burster MAXes can still kill some ESFs even under heavy fire, though they might die at times (but no worries engies/medics to the rescue)!

    Probably depends on faction. They spam the mossy all over the place and yet the Reavers try to lone wolf. So rocket spam from mossy is more obnoxious. It never seems like I'm dealing with just one. So if one can kill by itself is not something you pay attention to on the ground as its immaterial.

    No we got the kills before they realized we were there and before they started coordinating. As soon as they did it was all over very quickly.

    lol. im not complaining for my self.
    i can still kill a lot. but this game is not only about that.
    Maby you dint know that.
    Its about suporting your team. And this is getting harder and harder.
    Well if you really read the post you get it.

    I woudnt mind if they nerf the ESF a bit and make it better in one goal.
    So that it cant really get back in the front-line a bit more.
    Like Higby says the ESF is a bit to good in everything whit one load-out.
    i think the rocket pots are to multitask and a sort OP.
    Still to good at anti tank and anti infantry.
    Make the rocket pods or infantry only or AT.
    So you have to chose. More will go for the anti tank and try to kill infantry whit the rotary.
    Making it a fair fight.
    I would say. Nerf the night vision so infantry doesn't light up like a Xmas tree and doesn't work at day time.
    But make the AA max a bit slower projectiles and a little bit less precise let the skyguard take the real AA role.

    So nerf boost the ESF back in the fight plz

    Eugh. First page already reminded me why I'm not even missing playing Planetside 2 atm...

    Few people who are actually trying to make a combined arms game and twice that number of people who simply hate air because it can do something they can't do in their tank (fly). Hilariously, all the people laughing 'you brought it on yourself by abusing lolpods' are the people that 'brought it on themselves' - what's the 'it' in that statement? The repetitive inane bull**** that makes up 90% of PS2.

    We're 6 months into what was going to be a 6 month pay-as-you-play beta. By this point, whole class revamps were hoped to be in, as well as an actual metagame. Instead, we've had a few weapons released and weeks of whining about each one of them, a huge step backwards to the will-be snooze-fest the lattice creates, and the abandonment of all discussion of how to further facilitate strategy and tactics in the game.

    We could have had devs working on expanding what was a great and diverse starting point. Instead, they've been focussed on the lattice to satisfy people too stupid to realise that their problem was underpopulation and not working as a team. They've had to merge servers because their attentions have been pulled into 'is the Carv better than the SAW' type debates which, as much as they PISS us forum warriors off, are beyond irrelevant to building in the rest of the game.



    I'm not saying 'the game is dead', or any of that nonsense. Just that it's so much less than it could have been by this point if the community didn't spend their time clamping down on the devs balls about such tiny little things. (Also, if the devs were half-competent, of course, but this post isn't addressed to them... I'd have to create a reddit account for that ;) ).

    Oh, I get it. I've explained those very points to the point of being blue in the face in posts across this forum and the Planetside Universe forum. I've also been a huge proponent of NOT nerfing ESF's, or any other thing in this game. My point was simple, pilots should not be upset when something can effectively counter their efforts. Especially if the pilots are coming out ahead. Which, they are, as evidenced by most of their stats. Personally, I could care less about K/D (perhaps you didn't read my signature).

    Just don't talk about nerfing the counter to something that is obviouly still coming out on top.

    Its called combined arms and if you are in a large battle that means your either in a outfit or with a zerg. Zerg will not help you thats a fact, your outfit(if they are any good) will clear out the striker nests/AA maxes so you can be effective. if you want to just LOLPOD your way threw a platoon vs platoon zone, your going to die.

    Honestly from some one thats level 98 you think you would have figured out the combined arms gameplay already.

    And dit you read the post?
    There is nothing about lone wolfing ESF.
    It more about balancing some weapons.
    And a bit unnesesary buff to lock on missiles.

    1. AA sits behind the lines, often up to 2 hexes away, the only way an outfit will break that is when the battle is over.
    2. I am an A2A pilot, I don't do your so called 'lolpods' and to be honest, if your still calling them that then you are very bad.
    3. I am not level 98, but it sounds like you have no idea what combind arms means. THAT MEANS that Every type of unit should have a place on the battle field, not just the ones you like.

    Honestly, you should just stop posting because you don't have a clue.

    So now ESF's have no place in the major battles and are only truely useful at picking people off who are undefended? Since when is Aircraft in war not a major part of the major battles...I haven't flown around yet, so i'll hold off on making too many comments on it...

    Exactly. AA, since the more recent patches, has been buffed enough to where it denies the **** out of an area for ESFs. Now we arent just denied..................

    LOL you are comparing two different things. That tank who ran into the middle of the heavily defended AMP station is also going to be in view only by people in which ARE IN HIS VIEW and are not being blocked by walls/buildings..etc. Now, an ESF? They Fly. They fly in the CLEAR *** skies in which EVERYBODY no matter what side of the base they are on, pretty much can see.. We are so visible from so far away, thats why the lightening in your example is different. It isn't in the sky where there are no objects to obstruct view.

    Just remember you are on TR on waterson. VS fields no pilots and most crews roll TR in mossies and libs. You can act like everything is alright right now, but you aren't on the side with pilots rerolling to other sides and servers.

    How about you wait till they do the air revamp they said they were doing in a couple weeks and then see whats up without all the dramatic posts? just a thought.

    So if one ESF is just made to kill a other what is its place??
