No-DEPLOY Invisible to colour-blind - SOEs vendetta continues

SOEs continuing vendetta against colour-blind players continues with introduction of the no-deploy zone circle.

(What follows assumes there is not some bug making the circle this ridiculous colour)

For the most common colour blindness this circle is almost invisible on the mini-map. The choice of colour is so bad I can only think they have a vendetta against colour-blindness, you would have to go out of your way to pick a colour this bad.

Does no-one in SOE give the slightest crap for their players?

I mean how hard is it to give a tiny little consideration to the colour/pattern of essential and fundamental to gameplay changes like this?...

    SOLUTION:

1: Have the no-deploy zone area circle exactly the same as the current sundie circles (Which are fine)
    2. Allow players to select the colour
    3. Add a suitable background pattern to fill the circle

I love my sundie and have spent A LOT of cash on it - so I don't appreciate being shafted in this way.

Maybe that's why I never even noticed it lol.

"SOE's Vendetta against the color-blind", lol, that's great, no really, I chuckled, and while I'm all for the use of dramatic hyperbole, I think you may be jazzing up the language just a wee-bit.

Everyone who posts something negative on this forum seems blow things way out of proportion. It's a simple circle relatively the same size as a deployed sunderer zone around a capture point. Really don't think SOE thought, 'oh yeah, let's screw with the color-blind people for fun!'.

Maybe - but it was the only logical conclusion.

A game designer working for an international gaming company actually decided to make a map feature RED which at times appears against a background of GREEN grass; a colour that is obviously going to cause issues for most colourblind customers/players in the game and YET chooses to ignore this and goes ahead.

    Well the only conclusion is either that;

    1. SOE has utter contempt for colour-blind players
    2. The person that made the decision is a complete moron that should not be working in game design.

Basic HCI knowledge and a brain cell would eliminate all but the most subtle colourblind issues all it takes is for SOE to give a **** about it's players - this is BASIC stuff!!!!

    THINK:
This is not some rant about how they nerfed something - some of you might think this is a minor issue or think it's funny but imagine how YOU would feel if SOE made a change that stopped you doing something you like, like firing the weapons in your tank, or being able to see objectives in the mini-map BUT everyone else could do those things easily how would you feel?

Wow, no wonder I was having trouble today. I am colorblind & was trying to deploy sunderer inside a base & could not see any "no deploy zone" whatsoever. I eventually just abandoned it as I was under heavy fire & couldn't get it deployed.

..and people wonder why Higby et al steer clear of the official forums.

    SOE discriminates against the colourblind!!

    I mean, really?!

I don't think that's the reason he hardly posts here.Reddit is more company independent and so is twitter, in case somebody decides to change environment space, they don't lose the following they had.

There are exaggerations on any media and while the OP is right, he does it in an over dramatised way. I'm sure it will be hotfixed soon enough.

Drama tends to attract attention to issues. Not that I don't think there are better ways to bring to light issues.
