    Its my 1000th post!

Dont you think that ARs/Carbines are too similiar? Do you think that we need something like Lasher/ Jackhammer/ Chaingun for Medics/ Engineers/ LAs?
These are my ideas of those weapons:

    TR

I will start with TR because this was my first idea. It would be AR/Carbine with 3 magazines, placed like that [IMG]
(sorry for that Paint, I suck at **** and programs like that)

It would have 90 or 120 bullets (depending on what single mag size you are looking at - typical 30 or TRs 40) and amazing rate of fire (over 1000). Reload would have 4 stages - if you empty all mags completely, you will have to replace them all and pull that little thing. If you shoot 61-89 (or 81-119) bullets you will be replacing 3 mags without pulling that thing. 31-60 (or 41-80) means replacing only 2 mags, and 1-30 ( 1-40) is only 1 mag.
I dont know what about accuracy - it could be:
    - bad ADS, good hipfire
    - good ADS, bad hipfire
Damage would be very low, but DPS would be still high
    VS
VS would get completely different gun. It would have no recoil (at all). It would have low DPS to compensate (600/143?). Still sounds like long range beast? It would have low velocity to compensate (if you stand still its your problem). CoF also would be good - because whats the point of no recoil if all your bullets are just spreading around? I was also thinking about heat mechanic. It could be optional attachment, with it the weapon would have few bullets less in magazine (25 like Darkstar/Eclipse?). It would also have good reload speed, because its Vanu trait that many weapons dont follow.
And it would need new design (especially if it was Carbine). What about this Mass Effect Geth AR?
    NC
I had no idea for NC gun, but I saw that you guys like Railguns. And yes, the NC weapon would be a Railgun . It would also fit in other NC trait - high damage.
    What about these stats:
    - 334 dmg (3 hits kill), but no headshot multiplier (to make it 3 headshots kill)
    - very high velocity (how about 1250 m/s?) - because of that velocity it would need one of those to not be OP at long ranges:
1)Very big CoF for infantry weapon (but it wouldnt be cool idea)
    2) Big damage drop-off (but it would gain headshot multiplier with range, so it would be always 3 headshots kill)
    - delay between pressing M1 and weapon shot (because its railgun!)
And how would it look like? Ive found this: [IMG]

What are your thoughts? Do you like my ideas?

I just now notice that the Exo suits in COD:AW look like that thing from Elysium you posted.

    thanks...
now i have to download ME3 again and Play with my sweat Geth Arsenal... Javelin <3

But i really like the idea of the TR weapon with the Tiered Reloads (we know it is already possible to have the Tier Change at different values due to the underboss and commie, so depending on how it is handled, it would be quite possible that it is rather easy to do)

and i really really like the idea the pulse rifle. high accuracy, high Rof, no recoil, very low damage. basicly a Long range Version of the Beta Lasher Ghostbustergun

tough i think the NC would then have to handle more like a Full Auto shotty with Slugs Warhammer 40k Boltgun (maybe even some sort of splash?)
  4. patrykK1028

High RoF and low dmg? Hmm, it sounds better than 600/143 I posted!

I forgot about RoF stats for the NC one :/ I was thinking about 315rpm, it would be higher DPS than 600/167. With that, it would handle like SAW, so the recoil would be higher (because it shots slower). Splash dmg? I dont know if that fits railgun, but what about special ammo (taking ammo attachment slot), letting you do higher dmg against light armor (Harassers, Flashes, ESFs, Valkyries)?
  5. LodeTria

Damage should drop to zero on the VS one for being so accurate. Past 100 meters it does nothing.

"Still sounds like long range beast? It would have low velocity to compensate (if you stand still its your problem)."

A tiered reload on the TR gun sounds groovy. The magazine placement is... wonky (just a placeholder, I know), but the idea is sound. Just make it *accurate* (as in TORQ'y) - otherwise all that ROF (coupled with 125/112 dmg) is no good (think AMP).

I like the recoiless rifle for the VS as well, though this is a *very* powerful trait to have, so the overall DPS would have to be subpar in order to balance it. That, or - make the DPS somewhat average (652/143), but give the weapon a very limited magazine capacity (20 rounds, or so), so that exploiting it's pinpoint accuracy would be required to make it competitive.
I would be perfectly fine with the heat mechanic on it as well.

Yeah and what are we talking here? The lowest velocity which is around 500 odd for normal weapons?
Or Lasher levels of slowness? The first one isn't hard to lead at all, the second a little bit but it's not difficult.
  9. T0x1s

I like ti allot. TR needs to be good ADS and bad hip fire because the only thing they lack in now is accuracy :)
  10. patrykK1028

Its not difficult to lead with Lasher?! Lol.
It has 100m/s velocity, it takes it whole second to travel 100 meters. And infantryguy can cover like 15 meters in 1 second. Good luck hitting him
Back to topic: I was thinking about 375-425m/s for AR and ~350 for Carbine. It would be pretty low and very easy to dodge

Can the TR actually get something that looks like a conventional weapon, rather than the wonky, ugly looking ES weapon models we have now, e.g. TRAP, MCG etc.? In fact, TR weapons look ugly in general.

I just noticed it got censored..
I meant that Photoshop-like free program on "G"

    1. Why not have just one large magazine?
    2. I'd prefer a low alpha/low dps/hitscan weapon. Think pulse laser.
    3. Don't care about NC.
  14. patrykK1028

    1. Because why not? Also, it would just turn into LMG
    2. I think no-recoil is better than high velocity
    3. OK...
  15. patrykK1028

Of course, you can get that beauty:
    Looks conventional
  16. 7 Drunk Midgets

Looks gross. Why would a highly trained soldier from Auraxis' most disciplined army want to fumble around with three magazines when one would do the job better and more efficiently? Imagine actually trying to shoot this thing in real life. When one of the side magazines runs dry, one side will be heavier than the other. No wonder side-loading magazines were phased out after WW2. This weapon would be unconventional, unorthodox, unwieldy, and undesired were it real.

  17. patrykK1028

Because everyone knows Planetside 2 is 100% accurate war simulator and one side being heavier will affect the accuracy. XD
BTW How do you want conventional weapon in 2800 year?
  18. Paragon Exile

Even in the year 2800, Humans will still have the same physiology. Guns will always need to be designed around that.

Unless they become cybernetic transhumans or something lol.

In 1200 we were fighting with swords. spears, bows etc.
I dont think we will be even using guns in 2800, but if we do, they just cant be conventional.

I actually really like the aesthetics of the NS weapons. They're not designed to be pretty, they are functional and designed to work. The TR are a fast-moving, efficient, ruthless, oppressive government; your purposed weapon fits none of these traits. All it is is dakka, and we have carbines and assault rifles that fill that niche. TR armories would be large factories, churning out cookie cutter weapons designed to kill in the most efficient way possible. They won't look pretty or particularly interesting, but they'll get the job done. The TR are also very traditional, the description for the TX1 Repeater says it has been in service for 300 years. It's safe to assume that their weapons wouldn't look too dissimilar to what we have today. But instead, we get weapons like the TRAP. What kind of potato is this thing? Our SMGs look like dinner plates from the side. How exactly are you supposed to control the recoil of a freaking chaingun without a shoulder stock? It makes no sense.
