I don't have access to my computer right now. Could someone put up a small clip with examples, please?
Strangely when you put a silencer on the new VS weapons a number of them sound remarkably similar to the NS silenced weapons... What a coincidence that the Faction that is hardest to IFF in a CQC fight now has NS sounding weapons
they sound amazing, and far more intimidating. It's amazing to me how much audio affects the feel of a weapon, they're all really fun to shoot. I hope SOE realises this now too. now TR needs a pass too. our carbines sound like toys. We use gunpowder based weaponry, right? I have a perfect example of what they should try to imitate... SOEpls (once my new computer parts gets here I'll record BC2 sounds and put them over PS2 gameplay)
I dunno, I liked most of the old sounds to begin with. Some of the new ones are nice though, except for the LMGs. They tend to sound kind of annoying, without feeling that much more powerful than before. The Corvus sounds seem more like the direction the LMGs should go in. -Ag
Using the scout/battle rifles, SMG's, shotguns, etc that don't have improved pew pew yet makes me a sad panda. I quite like the sound on some of the LMG's, others are just sort of ok. Oh and on the test server the Lasher hates it when I try to fire whilst aiming down sights, not that I really use it anymore. Aside: There's two camps of people in response to the Lasher update - The ones who always fired Lasher from the hip, who now find the Lasher is better and the ones who mostly/always fired down sights (Like me) who now hate the Lasher with a passion.
Uhm, I always fired the Lasher from the hip, and I think the Game Update completely ruined it. Half the accuracy and double the recoil of before (old hip CoF was better than new ADS CoF), and the only way to keep even that last resemblance of accuracy is to aim, which blocks the lower third of the screen with an ugly animation and the reticule with the extremely large projectiles whose collision boxes aren't actually that large. Granted, the reflex sights buffer the problem a little due to elevating the view, but I still mostly use the Lasher from the hip so I can at least see the target. The current Lasher Animation bug (I assume it's a bug due to how borked the reload is and the weapon disappearing while moving, but not while sprinting) does however make for an interesting "solution". I don't believe that's intended, as it would invalidate any sights a player has bought. The sound is actually too punchy in relation to the actual strength of the weapon, in my opinion.
Yeah I've stopped using the Lasher alltogether, I hate it now, not for the sound just for the changes to its implementation and would happily go back to its lesser damage in exchange for getting the accuracy back.
