I've been gone for a month. Lots of FPS improvemment in the standard settings. What's the new Ultra settings?
the most important being the ultra textures, I'm assuming they have fixed the memory leak. That would be the largest addition/gain with using the ultra settings, most others are not as "noticeable" in comparison to their frame rate hit.
I personally can't see any visual difference between high and ultra textures. I wonder if its because I only have 1gb VRAM, so the ultra textures don't even load. I run a 1440x900. There is no performance decrease when I set to ultra. i7 930 at 3.5ghz , core unparked with HT on. 12gb triple channel ram ancient 5850 overclocked to 870/1150 1gb VRAM 1440x900 I have an old system but at my low monitor res of 1440x900, the frame rate never drops below 35 even in the most epic of battles.
You wont see a performance decrease with ultra texture settings if you have atleast a half decent GPU. Actually it will even increase your performance because the textures dont have to be decompressed, which takes a load off your CPU.
