New implant system feedback

    The new lottery plugin system is a big time sink as it is taking all my certs I could otherwise be putting toward actual progression, all because I am missing one plugin that after buying 7X 9 packs I still haven't gotten. I stop playing the game for a while after my efforts are wasted.

    Paid out for one deluxe box, got something half usable, carried on with my gaming....

    I personally like it when compared to the old system.

    Just because I don't get everything on day one is no reason to stop playing. IMHO anyways ;)

    A serious note to anyone who complains that interest in this system caused them to blow any huge amount of certs that they wanted to spend on something else in a single sitting: please contact a local association for support in dealing with personal "problem gambling" issues, and stay away from formal casinos. This is for your own good.

    I think devs forgot to remind what was the purpose of the implant system: a cert sink for high br players who already unlock everything they were interested in.

    And that's exactly what it does. I.e. I do not find it so bad but I have 4k certs to throw somewhere and I've been around sincebeta.

    I bought three or four deluxe packs for each faction to get the implants I wanted and using the ISO4 I started with plus breaking up duplicates I had enough to get them to tier 3 or tier 4. I haven't bought any more since.

    I like not having to grind for implant drops so as to keep making chargers. This new system is preferable to the old one for me.

    .......except that I also got the main implant I wanted on my newest avatar (new account) by completing some of the tier 1 directives and I have a couple more to unlock in hope of getting the other one.

    A cert sink, yeah I heard about that.

    Honestly, I understand the need for a cert sink, but this was the worst way to do it. There are countless other good ideas I've seen posted for consumables or exotic cosmetics. They could have taken cues from countless other games or just gleaned ideas from the forums. The implant system should not have been migrated to 'rich man's land', imo.

    Unfortunately, I'm sure we're stuck with it now, and it's the nature of implants that they do give a very significant advantage in various situations. They are not trivial at all. With the old system, everyone could get them and even level them up with play time, and energy was free to a point. Now we will have a large percentage of the player base that will be at a disadvantage since they simply won't have them.

    It won't really be 'seen', overall, because it will balance between factions, but looking behind the curtain, player vs player, it makes a big difference.

    Imho the problem is the system they created was too restrictive and random. In order to make it feel less painful they made implants free at each level, which gives the impression players should be able to get all the implants immediately.

    But I remember when the system was in concept that Higby stated they needed to create a system to make high BR players to invest their certs.

    Then let's be honest, the advantage of implants is so marginal even a tier 5 doesn't make much difference right now.
    I play with Regeneration and the Explosives HUD tier 3 and still I get good XP and good kills. Never once I had the impression my performance would have significantly improved with more / better implants.

    Except maybe for Sensor Shield. I miss that thing a lot :(

    Thanks all for sharing in the discussion. I should state that I have played with the old implant system also and for the most part I do prefer the new one. The clincher is the random nature of the drop based on a progressions system of certs. It becomes a double grind. They could just make each of the implants ghastly expensive or split the chance for drop between packages dedicated for teirs? IDK its just discouraging to try to get to where I was with the old implant system and have it constantly delayed by not getting "lucky" all the while missing out on plenty of other aspects of the game because I feel the implants will have enough of an effect in my current sphere of influence that they are a priority. I mentioned taking time away from the game, its not a 6 month hiatus, just needs a few days to get over the last few days for naught and climb that cert hill again. Mostly I write this so the devs see it, I am not trying to start any arguments.

    I would rather save 10k certs and buy one I wanted than gamble on it.

    I really don't like it. The implants themselves and the removal of energy is good and nice, but the system of acquisition is dreadful. There's really no reason to play my TR alt anymore, nor to ever make another character do the massively increased equipment disparity.

    My BR 101 main still has tonnes of things to cert, and I actively spend certs on equipment I actually want and use. When the implants came out, I blew a little over 6k certs on packs. I've got all the normal implants, and upgraded the ones I wanted thanks to a 24k backlog of converted ISO-4. All out of that now though.

    Compared to my BR something alt, I've got next to nothing. Got a couple free implant packs for the directives --and only two...-- so I do have at least some tier-one implants to use. However, I don't have the luxury of the 24k ISO-4 stockpile, nor the 6k certs to buy the rest of the implants I want.

    Even so, I could easily 40k certs right now if I had them on this alt! Why even play him anymore, when he will always be fighting with less than my main? Tens of thousands of certs just to get up the speed on the current implants, and I've not maxed out a single class yet! Fun for my main and for long-time veterans, but not for young alts or new players.

    Max rank Catlike is not a marginal advantage, in my opinion. :eek:

    Anything rng-based is bullshít to a player. You might get lucky or not and you can never decide anything but taking part in it or not.
    I don't understand why they all of a sudden went with 2 implant slots, from a gameplay perspective.
    As helpful without being overpowered implant I view the ammo refill one. Others seem too strong, especially the battle-related ones that can partially replace a medic if view critical. Sweeper should imo just show minimap icons, not the position on the screen and eventually only work at a reduced range inside vehicles, additionally.
    Battle Hardened should've been removed along with the effects it's meant to counter (or have them drastically reduced).
    Catlike I'd imagine becoming a problem on a perma-sneaking infil but otherwise: Meh.

    Terrible system, really low % chance of getting certain implants with added rng, spent around 10k certs and didn't get battle hardened. It's the reason why I stopped playing the game. GJ daybreak and Wrel, f***ing cucks

    yep that's the same one I'm trying to get, I'm up to 10x 9 packs that's 7500 certs wasted. this is enough to make most people find a new game. Devs need to fix this. Its just trolling your players.
