With the mention of water (and rippling), I'd really like to see Planetside 2 adopt the Spin Tires world and physics. -- Smoov
Wish we had a Titan game mode continent like in Battlefield 2142 where you need to destroy the opposing factions air carriers to lock the continent. Could EA sue if Planetside made something like it?
I don't get these stupid "population" arguments. Alerts guarantee the majority of the population will be on one continent. Which is all we need. We don't need enough pop to fill up every continent at the same time. Hello?
Not only that, but with the introduction of the Macro-Lattice, people will be populating the front lines, anyways.
I prefer to see a urban industrial, commercial, residential complex where planes and armor takes a lesser role so i can concentrate on just killing my fellow man.
Armor already have too little role. Anyway I think this urban place is overrated. After playing battle fields concrete&asphalt maps I longed back to PS2's beautiful wilderness.
I would very much like to see us having the ability to capture the enemy's warpgate, effectively locking that enemy out of the continent. People would still be able to come in via the sunderers and other methods, giving them a remote chance of being able to take their warpgate back. By attrition tho, over time, that faction will eventually be wiped off the map by their enemies if they can't get their warpgate back. Kind of a bitter-end type of locking. The faction who wins and locks the continent, does so with 100% of the continent including warpgates. Since the warpgates don't really do anything inter-continental-wise, there really isn't much point to protect them from capture. Also, why do we even have a pain field keeping us away from the enemy's shield, when they HAVE A SHIELD??? Let the shield be a shield. Also... enough with the warning and auto-killing at the map boundaries. The water is its own boundary. Let us fly over the beach or run our vehicles up the beach if we wish. Too many artificial barriers that do nothing for game-play. -- Smoov
If it takes them 6 months to make a vehicle, they are more incompetent than I thought. This game is doomed.
Took 8 months from first stroke on the concept art to export to game engine to make one character model in Battlefield 2. The devs told us when visiting at school. Anyway in case you wonder where I got the info it was from an interview of Higby by Angry Joe when they talked about the ANT vehicle and the disappointment that it would just be a modifyed sunderer. Higby said they could either spend a few weeks on modifying the sunderer or they could spend like 6 months making a new vehicle from scratch. They thought it wasnt worth the time.
