The Torq-9 needs a 50 round magazine to make it a viable weapon. Other wise it will have the same problem as the new lynx being that it only takes a second to empty all your rounds. Or make The Torq-9 hit harder. Some where around 140-150 would be nice.
It has about the same damage per magazine as the Gauss Rifle. Is the Gauss Rifle weak on damage output (the answer is no)?
You don't get free double exmags to compensate for a problem that doesn't exist. If you want to complain about awful damage per mag you need to roll VS, because they have worse than you guys BY FAR and without any of the redeeming qualities of the guns to compensate. Also the TORQ you just described is literally the TRV
Rule is if it looks cool an unique it has to have some major gameplay flaw. Empire specific sniper rifles for example.
I love those creative vanu weapon models. €: Still going to use shotgun or CME. Even battle rifle works better in VR.
50 rounds sounds a little overkill , since it would become a medic MSWR. The issue is the ammo pool right now the TORQ has 40/240 - essentially he has 6 ammo clips on his belt to make it 50 , you may have to drop the ammo pool down to 200 rounds in the ammo pool. Honestly if the there is a dmg buff for this, at least make it 130 or 135 - since the RPM count is going to impact more damage on the enemy body in less of the time to do so with a slower RPM.
TORQ looks close to the T1 Cyler with Slightly better attachments (SPA/Comp) better ADS COFs but have less DPM and looks having a terrible horiezontal recoil. The tross looks like a real mid-long range weapon but still have the 200 damages COFs patterns wich makes it average. But the large mag is quite nice. The terminus looks like a crazy all rounder ADS machine. It only limitation looks like the burst firing mode. It's like if the SABR-13 and the CME have a baby, but with even higher max ROF.
Assault rifles niches. https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/assault-rifles-in-pictures.186043/
I think 1000 Certs are too much for the Terminus as it is now. It's very situational and without Full Auto it should only cost 500 Certs (my opinion after shooting 2 mins with it on PTS).
For the speed of its firing, it has excellent horizontal recoil and recoil control in general. Moreso than the T1 Cycler, which it's in the same rough DPS bracket with. It has less DPM and does worse against Nanoweave if you don't get headshots. But it handles better and has better attachments. I think the TORQ is perfectly balanced at the role SOE has stated it's designed for (a generalist weapon).
If only the TR had a high ROF 143 damage AR If that change went through a) the ROF would have to come down and b) the TR would LOSE THEIR **** about how the TORQ is just another TRV As someone with quite a bit of time behind the Carnage AR, the T1 with a grip reminds me so much of a fully kitted out Carnage AR in its prime that it's uncanny. The TORQ is even more accurate and high DPS than even that. And the TR want it changed, because it's not ALSO a TRV with Hailstorm magazine size in addition to being a Carnage on steroids. Good lord people
Another thing that should be pointed out is the shorter reloads that come as a result of having less DPM, its nice to have a quicker reloading weapon choice instead of slow reloading standard TR issue gear. I think its a fair tradeoff to lose DPM in exchange for faster reloads, which means less chance of being caught mid-reload. This is really a bonus/positive overall aspect of the TORQ! The long reload on the TORQ is quicker than the short reload on the TAR!
Heres my idea of a balanced TORQ-9. . .give it lynx ROF and make its reload a hair slower to copmensate. Perfect! If it MUST be changed drastically. . . ROF: 989 (SOE HATES zeroes) DMG: 100 @ 15m - 90 @ 60m Velocity: 620m/s Ammo: 50-200 Recoil+Accuracy: Lynx in assault rifle form (recoil and maybe bloom lowered a tad due to a lower damage tier) Lore: With the success of the revamped firing systems, the Terran Republic decided to break the fire-rate barrier previous weapon designs were incapable of using. However, the new firearm, the TORQ-9 could not fire even the smaller caliber rounds of SMGs properly without wreaking havoc on the weapons internal assembly. To solve this issue, weapon designers built versions of the Sabr-13's ammunition scaled down to provide lowered kick while keeping a punch. With the new, ultra-light ammunition, the TORQ-9 blew down the previous records with an astonishing 989 round per minute firerate. While the bullets no longer held the punch of larger, heavier ammunition, the TORQ's sheer rate of fire let loose a chaotic rain of lead on its unlucky victims. I love what we have now (fire rate boost would be nice. . .) but if not what is on test, the above might work out well
100/989 is actually worse than 125/857. Why would you want the TORQ to be made worse? 857 is more than high enough to get the "Whoa I'm shooting so many bullets" feel, 40 rounds is still plenty large (particularly with that amazing reload), and the attachments it has give it excellent projection. Increasing the ROF any more means trashing the handling, which is already miraculous given how great it handles at 857. Seriously, it doesn't need to change. It's great just the way it is. It's an amazing concept (the accurate bullet hose) without being overpowered.
true, although usually the bird names are for the NC missile based weapon systems. Does that mean the new NC AR is firing little missiles?!
