I experience a lot of packet loss to the Cobalt server. tracert show that the loss is inside the sony network. every local network connection i.e. to my rootserver works fine with no loss. I wonder if packet loss is causing my issue I can run around at the warpgate but cant see anyone else - then occasionally someone appears standing there for a bit.. then another... etc. C.
@MichaelS Ping is much better if you want to check for possible packet loss. Try "ping -t 195.33.132.169" and watch it for a minute or so. If you like you could log it to a file aswell: ping -t 195.33.132.169 >c:\ps2_ping.log Look out for batches of lost packets. Just one lost packet now and then is usually no problem. @GreyDeath Your traceroute doesn't show anything suspicious. Routing could be better but I doubt that's the cause of your issues. You can try the ping command. Maybe there is some kind of traffic shaping going on in your case but then other games should be affected aswell. Try your ISP's community forum (http://community.plus.net/forum/). maybe you are not alone.
