NERF SKY GURADS

    I JUST GOT INTO FLYING AND JUST RELISED SKY GUARDS KILL ME IN ONE CLIP. i got composite amor and i still die, the have high fire rate, good tracking and damage ! and their clip size is enough for them so please its kinda depressing when a tank takes u out in one clip

    1st composite armor only helps vs small arms and flakk, skyguards arent flak (think bursters and aa phalanx turrets)

    if you start getting plinked run! that skyguard is the scissors to your paper

    1. Wrong forum section, epic fail.
    2. Skyguard is supposed to be your hard counter, not a deterrance like those puny AA Phalanx turret.
    3. With only 480rpm and a massive CoF, you're a fool to keep getting hit. On my average solo runs, I wonder if any of my aircraft kills have a single functional brain cell.
    4. I hope you're on Connery and meet me on the battlefield sometimes. I bet you'll be food for me. Remember to send a hate tell if I do kill you.

    Composite Armor..
    Cause the funny thing is.. when your in a Skyguard.. you laying in to a Veteran ESF player and you can do nothing to him.. and he runs away.. and you've reloaded twice..
    Why? Max level Composite armor.. :S

    Well, here it is, the classic "I died to _____, NERF!!!!!" thread. Oh wait, there are plenty of others about in other parts of the forum. Wait till you encounter the even more deadly "Sky gonads"!!!!
    At least this one is in the wrong section..............................................
    If this guy was in my outfit, I would kick him based on this thread alone!

    Nope. Skyguard is fine as is. If you are trying to rocketpod a dedicated Air killing platform you are going to bite it looking like an idiot. If you get hit by one and NOT flee as fast as possible you will die like an idiot as well.
    Hopefully you're not one of those Airboys that think that ESF should be able to dominate everything...

    TRACKING?? What are you talking about.
    I am a Vanu Skyguard driver, pretty good at it.. but there is NO tracking..

    I kill ESFs with less than one clip, IF they are low, stationary, or coming right at me.. you don't fire right away, you hold your breath, hold it, hold it, hold it.. then you see the pilot coming ever so closer.. the closer the better.. and bam..
    Whose fault is that? YOURs!!

    I also get ESFs with a Lightning and HEAT rounds.. same thing.. it's not me that is that good, it's the pilots that think they are invincible.. come too close, hover too long etc..
    Think about it, even a large Airliner can be taken out by a bird..

    It's NOT the clip size.. which, by the way, is far too small.. it's only 70 rounds.. but if you get too close, it's enough to blow you up. If you learn to fly properly, I will have hard time getting even a few rounds on you.. I miss 80% of all of my shots..
    here are the stats from most skyguard drivers.. 20%.. that is, plus or minus 3-5%, our hit rate.. ONLY 20% of our shells actually hit their target..
    If you get hit by more than that, it is YOU that is the issue..

    Also, I hide my skyguard, I don't shoot at everything that flies around, I restrain myself., I try to get only perfect shots
    and I die in my skyguard quite often.. my KD is only 1.6.. that is very low ..
    You get blown away not because the glass tank skyguard is so OP, but because you either get too close, too low or you don't watch your minimap, where all tanks light up..
    fly in groups, fly with a squad etc.. learn from others.. watch youtube videos.. there are tons of liberator and ESF videos that get hit by skyguards, evade, run away, repair, and never die.. watch how they do it..

    skyguards are NOT overpowered.. far from it..

    ESFs being too effective at bombing ground targets has ruined the dog fighting air game, Miller you will find AA max's, skyguards and lock ons at every fight no matter the size, you will even find AA at empty bases during prime time. I understand why they are there, so people like daddy won't ruin good the infantry fights.

    So if you want to dog fight, your only realistic option is to camp a warpgate with an air squad and if you're lucky another air squad with similar size will come and fight you. This is quite enjoyable but not something you can really do on your own unless you're a pro pilot, but even then you're going to get jumped by several enemy esfs at once.

    So here's my problem, I don't fly with rocket pods, I have hardly even used them, bombing ground targets and having to move to a different base because there's too much AA is just boring, period. I instead look for dog fights, to get good at dog fighting I have to practice, to practice I actually have to find esfs to dog fight, which is hard since the average ESF pilots on miller just run away and give you an easy kill or think they are invincible and get destroyed by AA. The smart pilots won't over extend and will bomb targets in a base they own where the AA is limited but you can't get to dog fight them because you will take too much damage from AA while hover fighting.

    So generally what happens is, I fly all of the time for around a week, my aim and evading gets decent, then I get ****** off by a no lifer in a skyguard in an empty base 500m away from me and 1000m away from any ground fight while trying to dog fight an esf who is in my own territory and I won't fly much for another week, my aim gets bad all over again and it's an endless circle of me just being an slightly above average pilot one week and useless the next.

    Why bother when I can just sit in someone's vanguard all day and start to auraxium all the secondary guns and be top 20 in the daily leaderboard every day if I play as long as the other farmers.

    Yeah no. We pilots worked long and hard enough to get Maxes nerfed and Skyguards buffed - the way it should be.

    If you are ignoring that very pronounced THUMP THUMP THUMP sound long enough to die to a skyguard - then you do actually need to L2P. Flak makes the most hideous sound in an ESF for a reason. It means "MOVE - NOW".

    If you hear that sound and don't know the source... immediately hit the AB and dive toward the ground. It is that simple.

    I lol'd. I agree with this statement too.

    Alright, skygaurds are actually right where they should be. If you start getting hit, run. Any pilot with half a brain will flee when getting hit by flak. If you didn't run from flak, then you most likely deserved to be blown out of the sky. Going head to head with any sort of AA is a pilots worst mistake. AA will always win.

    You guys are too harsh. (Not that he doesn't deserve it.)

    When you're a new pilot, it's not always clear what you're getting hit by. (Let alone from where.). If you run away at any hits, a random SMG spraying the sky is a deterrence. If you wait to identify the source, well that's just what the skyguard wants. That recognition of whats hitting you and how to react is something that takes a long time to learn, via 30-second death runs spaced 15 minutes apart.

    I think the game would be really interesting if flak was instead buffed a lot and at the same time composite armor should be given a huge buff but a compelmenting weakness to aircraft machine guns. That way composite armor planes can make runs in heavy fighting areas but if they over extend and are too far away from friendly flak an enemy aircraft can easily and quickly hunt them down. Much more specialization (AA or AG) rather than rocket pods AA gun nanorepair good for everything fighter. I wish the game would move that way....

    except that the skyguards dmg is split between direct and flak damage so it doesnt do that much since iirc the rounds dont detonate in prox anyway
