Since Galaxies are so OP, players can take their whole squad, fly up outside of lock-on range, and drop all of their troops onto the point, then leave the Galaxy in the air to keep spawning in more troops. Thats actually stupid and really hard to counter. You need to set up sufficient AA and AV beforehand to be able to counter to tanks that are about to come roll over the AA you set up to deal with the Galaxy that you won't be able to kill. Its just stupid. So here's how we can fix that. Make it so you have to hover to drop off troops safely and accurately. Exclude this feature from the Valkyrie to give it an edge in teamplay. Maybe you could only be, say, 200 meters off the ground to drop someone off. That way, you have some time to stop the vehicle before they drop off all their troops and execute every living, breathing thing they see. And it would add to teamplay because then you actually do need something on the ground to clear the AA and AV that now can actually shoot the Galaxy since its so low. Troops that are dropped off any higher than that will take fall damage and maintain the same velocity as their vehicle. That way, there is some sort of risk of fly-bys. Valkyries should be kept the same as is unless they pose a problem. What do you guys think of these simple nerfs? Do they make a big difference in the grand scheme of things? If not, do they at least make you feel better about the vehicles?
When I read the title I thought you were mad for suggesting a nerf to galaxies ability to transport troops, But I totally agree about the skybox camping gals, they definitely should make the ejection fall damage immunity only last several seconds. As you said, they are out of the range of lock ons, And even flak like bursters, skyguard and rangers become fairly lackluster at such range due to cone of fire. I've found the best counter to sky box camping gals is to pull my own gal and ram it!
I'm gonna try that every time for now on. I'm tired of all of these people sitting out of range of any actual counter and raining fire down on my poor comrades.
IT's one of the best tactics for dealing with those max height gals/libs because they barely move or pay attention to anything. I also like to pull esf and damage the lib and I'm approaching it, slow down as I'm right next to/on top of it and bail out with deci to get the kill. It's a little riskier than the gal but cheaper.
Aight thanks. Yeah we really need to get this crap out of the game. And why does it take so freaking long to lock on to one of these things? Its a bigger target than an ESF so it should be considerably easier and faster to lock on to... Like, make the green box bigger and make it lock on faster. Its not rocket science.
