Funny how you forgot HA. Hell, even Medic has access to C4. It is amazing to see people complain that infiltrator shouldn't have more tool since they are already OP or close to it, when the majority of people are HA for infantry combat. They have a good reason too considering it's the only class with a effective AV and a very effective AI as well. Add a overshield in the mix and you got the perfect combat class in any situation with little drawback. So, just to be curious... What's HA tradeoff? Or medic tradeoff for C4 when it's the only class that can selfheal? I'll probably be dead before you find one. You know what is amusing? Giving C4 to infiltrator would actually be a tradeoff since medical kit are the only worthy tool to bring right now. Exchanging selfheal for a close range (you know, the actual sniper tradeoff is that it ain't that good at close range) AV. What an interesting choice!
Yes. We're entirely anti-infantry and base disabling. Prepping a base for takeover (hacking everything, shutting down turrets, placing betties on key locs), making choice sniper picks to take out engis/medics, and being excellent overwatch, that is your job. Not taking out tanks, that's the HA's job.
Why on earth would Infil need to be a counter for armour? good heavens, you're anti-troop, not anti-everything. Infil is a specialised role, a dark art to be learnt, not an uber-soldat who roams the battlefield killing on a whim. If you are playing Infil thinking its the "cool solo " option, you got the wrong end of the stick. You are a cog in a machine, a vital precision instrument of a working team,, let your HA team mates worry about tanks and suchlike, you get on with keeping thier backs clear of cocky troops who want to take a pop while they have thier rocket launcher out and can't return fire.
That's odd, the period I tested them in beta, fairly late...but not right towards the end they worked wonders. They would stop vehicles and infantry from using their weapons, remove shields from infantry (including the HA's special one) and disable the HUD. I guess they either nerfed 'em or borked 'em then.
They need either C4 or what id like to see instead of that, a laser designator of some sort. That way they could designate a target and have HA and aircraft be able insta-lock on to that vehicle. That way Infiltrators would have a way to combat vehicles without being able to directly damage vehicles since some think that would make them op.
Different classes with different functions. Medic is a close range class and so is Heavy. There is a reason they have C4. It's ok though. If you cry loud enough I am sure SOE will give in.
Because Medics can't really do anything except sit back and heal and shoot a few shots... the c4 is to give them something interesting.
so thats your explanation mister troll ? the role of a medic is to blew tanks with C4 but thats not the role of an infiltrator that is supposed to cross ennemies line and to do he's sabotage role ? do you realize how ludicrous your argumentation is ? its fine then because actually infiltrators cant really do anything except sit back too , and only shoot a few snipe shots too , and when medics can "only" heal or revive someone we can only disable spawn console that anybody else can hack back for 0 investment in the infiltrator class basically we do less for our team than a medic . we are mostly not even in the caping zone when sniping ... stop trolling seriously anybody with at least 2 neurons left could realize that actually the infiltrator gameplay is the most limited from all class. There is a tons of post about old experienced PS1 cloakers that played this class for several years like i did and tried it during ps2 beta and they mostly admit that they had to switch on the light assaut at the release because the PS2 infiltrator features was uninteresting at all and limited to a boring sniper role. i cannot do anything else than calling you troll. it is obvious that you never played a cloaker in PS1 or in PS2 as it should be and dont even know what you're talking about dude.
You can whine, cry, and take things out of context all you want. You are still wrong. If you are having trouble with vehicles you are just a really bad infiltrator. The C4 for medics is a an addition to their overall really boring kit. Believe what you want but playing a ps1 cloaker where your sole job is to simply backhack crap(which can be done by any supersoldier loadout) or drop boomers and hope idiots chase you isn't exactly the pinnacle of glory. you just prove here that you dont even try to read or understand anyone else point of view mister troll , i could screen my infiltrator stats and you would probably realize you dumb you are , but in fact i wont do it , you just dont desserve it at all , by chance most players are here to improve infiltrator mechanics, not to stick on their bolt action farming useless frags like you do it. and the yare smart enough to realize when there is some gameplay mechanics that can and should be improved. since the beginning im just pointing some huge non sense and fail of this class , like everyone did it here excepted you , probably because sticking on your beginner bolt action and farming nubs that are reading their map make you feel usefull and grow your e-pen with a good easy mode K/D ratio farming and make you blindly believe that this class is ub3rl33t roxxor ... keep avoiding all the interesting point that as been shown here and who tend to prove that you're are completely wrong, like the C4 for everyone excepted the infiltrator , it just show to everyone how useless your PoV can be mister troll.
Sup, my name is the Stalker, and I doesn't afraid of anything. If you need C4 to be "useful" then it isn't going to help you anyways. You are already useless. There are plenty of things you can do as an infiltrator that doesn't require you to be able to solo the entire game.
find me one thing not related to the snipe that another class cant do and think about it twice before you answer "preventing peoples from spawning vehicles" and dont even dream about tears , you actually make myself and my infiltrators outfit just rofl tbh
Yesterday I snuck into the crown, hacked the vehicle terminal and spawned an AMS sunderer, hid it just behind the tower, then hacked the anti-air turrets and killed the occupants, then killed a bunch of TR planes. It was pretty awesome TBH.
