NC Team Killing, a common practice?

My theory is that other than the general % of idiots that just purposely TK seemingly randomly, it's the 4th faction that's used to playing another faction, and they just reflex kill you. :D
  2. FBVanu

There are too many deliberate team kills. I stopped reporting them, because that is not stopping anyone, at least not in my experience.
There once was a thread about turning off the friendly fire.. whatever happened to that idea?

I play all 3 factions.. I have not seen any TKs on TR.. I see a lot on NC and only few on Vanu.. Once had to help a team mate who was getting shot at by one of our own lightnings.. I was in a Vanguard.. helping our own Sundy to survive.. that was just not right..

If friendly fire is off, it may not be a 'real life' game experience.. but it would certainly take out a lot of frustrations, it would stop the alt-players just messing stuff up.. or would that take the fun out of the game?

not on connery nor NC but i've worked my V+8 to stubs by now :S
(that's why i play medic and engi most of the time)

greedy NC.... better than when it's done to female VS

we've got the guy who place jumpstyle of proxi, i hope he doesn't read this.... as the horn cannot /ignore

the one thing that comes to mind... as NC weapons are "harder hitting" blue-on-blue fire might end up more lethal than red-on-red or spandex-on-spandex... make for more foul tempers

Man, this is the worst. You'd think people would realize: don't stand in front of a ScatterMAX. If you are anywhere immediately in front of one when an enemy runs through the door, you will be teamkilled, and what's worse, you'll act as a meatshield for the enemy and by soaking up the MAXes precious little ammo pool.

I play on Miller aswell and get TK'd every now and then, but not every session. Most of the time it is accidental, but if the person doesn't apologize then I want revenge. I always apologize when I accidentally TK or do lots of damage to someone.

But yeah, I can recount lots of TK's where people obviously did it on purpose, like one time I was sitting in a AT-turret and the turret next to me killed a friendly MAX, when he got revived he killed the guy who whot him and then me as well. I asked him wtf he did that for and he didn't answer, so I proceeded to follow him around as a heavy and shoot him with my rocket launcher, knifing him etc. loads of times. Eventually he said sorry, I just don't get why it was so hard to do it from the start, or why he even killed me in the first place.
Another one was a few days ago, an infiltrator just walked up to me and emptied his pistol mag into me. :/
One that was memorable was a guy who I know has a BR100 TR, he was in on his NC BR70-something and shot at me and my friend's Vanguard. We both though he just did it by accident, but then he did it again several times, from inside someone elses deployed Sundy. He then got out, as did we since our tank got blown up by the enemy, and he TK'd us both. We both TK'd him once each after that, and I saw in his killboard that he had apparrently also run a lot of friendlies over later that same day. But I don't get why he wanted us two specifically, when there were tons of others there which he could have shot at. :S

I play on Waterson and Connery. The TKing that goes on by the NC on Connery is out of control. TKing on Waterson is rare except for something accidental and you will get an apology generally via /tell or proxy chat.

Connery is an active server, but the TKing aspect on it usually makes me pause and just stick with more mature players on Waterson.

Yesterday we were in a biolab protecting the point next to the generator up the stairs.
2 squads were protecting the stairs from the near teleporter room and me and 3 other guys were engaging some VS that were coming from the catwalks behind the point. I was HA standing near the door firing at an enemy medic with a friendly engineer crouched infront of me also suppressing the enemy. I killed the medic, through a grenade and killed a second medic and then I saw a max coming through, I switched to my decimator aimed at him and fired.

at that exact moment a "friendly" max came up the stairs to the capture point and decided it's a great moment to blindly run into the line of fire. The missile hit him in the back and because he was so close to us the splash hit me and the engineer as well.
He then, like the turd he is, turned around (completely ignoring the enemies we were in the middle of fighting) walked to my face and max punched me to death. In the meantime the engineer repaired him to full health.
I then changed my layout to a HA with deci and 1 brick of C4, went up the stairs to the point put a brick on his back and a missile to his face.

I wonder how much of this TKing is 'revenge' TKs for accidents ... that's just making the problem worse.

I also have trouble sometimes with the dorito not appearing on friendlies immediately, so I'll shoot them ... I'll stop when the warning icon comes up, but if I'm firing a OHK weapon that will be a TK that will look quite deliberate, even if it wasn't. I'll usually apologise for these but I can see that some people wouldn't.

I can't say much about purposeful TK-ing on NC but accidentally it happens VERY often. It is caused by people just storming their way in a Rambo-like fashion and by the weapons themselves. Did you try that stock LMG? You are BOUND to get teamkills with that.

Things can get chaotic in some fights so it's understandable in some occasions. Just don't blame me! >_<
  11. Zazulio

Here's how to avoid it: don't be that schmuck who blocks everybody else's firelines by running up into the doorway to shoot out of it. Ten people all aiming at the same door is WAY more effective at shutting that door down than one dude standing right in the middle of it. In fact, one dude standing right in the middle of the door is a detriment, because if the people who are actually trying to guard it have to fire at an enemy, they're going to get friendly fire warnings, and possibly even weapon-locked.

As somebody who frequently spawns engineer turrets to guard chokepoints, there is nothing in this game than I hate more than greedy teammates in doorways
  12. Paperlamp

Yeah, and it kind of has a domino effect - one guy moves in the way so other people have to crowd in closer to have and angle and it just gets worse and worse until they're the ones being farmed because they're too close to the door.

At that point it's better to just find a better position.

No NC doesn't have time for that because they have much more important things to do.

Almost every TK I've done on my NC char is when someone decided to walk through my MAX or HA. Almost impossible to react in time. I will apologize when I can but if you expect me to drop everything during an intense battle you need to get a thicker skin, and realise this minor transgression that was your fault is not the end of the world. On the same note, I do not require an apology when getting TKed. It happends, and rarely is it done with malicious intent.

Lol, play VS. Indignant Magrider players be like, "What's this entire platoon of infantry doing in ***MY*** way...off of the main road so they won't get in the way of vehicles? It's your fault I'm running over all of you idiots."
  16. oherror

I play TR mostly now that helios and connery merged. But my NC dude on NC sees the most team killing thats not accedental. They seem to purposely aim and kill each other.

Also NC have alot of noobs that like to stand in front of tanks and maxes.....so death happens.
  17. Juni

When I played NC on a regular basis I was killed A LOT by my own team, some days, I was killed more by my own team than the enemy, and I am not exagerating.
Don't know if the NC on Miller are just incompetent or do not check their targets.
Either way, it came to the point that I stopped playing NC and went back to the TR.

I'm sorry I can't hear you over all this glorious ghoul horning that my smoke stack lumifiber swag sundy is constantly pumping out as a means to bolster morale among the ranks and strike fear into the hearts of the enemy. Binding your horn to LMB is pretty advanced combat tactics and I like to think it sets me out as a True MLG Pro to those who wouldn't already know by my prowess on the battlefield.

As an NC on Mattherson, I got TK'ed intentionally many, many times. By intentionally, I mean a player would kill me, I'd get a revive by someone else, only to get killed by the same guy at least four times in a row. No reason that I can think of whatsoever.

As an anecdote, once, a player rammed his Reaver into my fully loaded Galaxy, which, as a result, I lost control of and got destroyed, killing everyone on board (it was during an Alert too!). I did not have to ask why, he typed in the chat that this was deserved because we did not wait for him to load up at the WG...
  20. Liquid23

My theory is that the NC has the same problems as the Russian tank hunter dogs did... you see the Russians tried to strap bombs to dogs and train them to go after tanks back in the day... seemed like a good idea... but the only available tanks they had for training were decommissioned models of their own... so when the dogs were released in the field instead of going after the enemy they just ran to friendly tanks... therefor I assume the NC uses some of their own vehicles and armor during training as targets in VR so now their soldiers can't help but shoot each other because they don't know any better

That is of course assuming the average NC soldier is about as smart as a dog... tho I'm pretty sure my Labrador could outwit most of them
