Multi-guilding: the act of being in more than 1 guild at the same time. Usually there's some function that lets you switch between guilds and monitor the different chat channels. You pick which guild tag you want to fly. Guild leaders may be able to see if you are in multiple guilds and may be able to enforce rules regarding this. Possible uses: You have your main, long-term, maybe multi-game guild that you normally play with. They are cool people who enjoy a diverse game. Sometimes, though, you want to just fly around and dogfight in a squad of ESF pilots. Your guildmates don't want to do this as much as you do so sometimes you just want to find a pick-up squad to fly with for a while. You make friendlists and advertise a public squad and so forth but it would be nice if it was easy to just hop in and fly with a ready-made team. Multi-guilding lets you do this. You have your #1 main guild but you also have a #2 part-time guild of people who just like flying. (You may also have a #3 part-time guild of people who just like Harassers or just like coordinating AV MANA turrets or whatever else you can think of. Specialty guilds.) Should Planetside support multiguilding? What say you?
They don't need to. People do it on their own anyway. Why bother adding something else that just might break during any given patch?
Im not one for splitting loyalties but I understand the problem you are trying to solve. If we had SOEs help rather than another guild perhaps it would be better to have some kind of non guild but ingame set of faction clubs/groups we could all join, eg Harrasser club or Liberator forum.
This. I'm sure most outifts, especially specialist ones, wouldn't mind adding you to the squad if you were friends with them and they had room.
