Well sense the valk update i had been unable to keybiend my mouse button 4,5,6,7 I got a genius mouse ergo 520 lastest drivers, it started happening in PTS as well with the valk update, while on live it was working also until valk update. Anyone had any ideas?
Ok some more info, I tried changing the inputeprofile_user.xml manually, adding <Trigger>Mouse_4(tried up to 9)</Trigger> to the action I wanted it to take and no go. I unistalled drivers letting windows use the crappy things they have, and no go, reinstalled drivers, tried to macro it, change the usb port that the mouse is using, everything I could think of and nothing works. Basicly what happens is that in game, wont let me keybind any of my additional mouse buttons when I press to change it and keybind it, nothing happens, like PS2 wont detect that my mouse has more than 3 buttons. So I would really appreciate some ideas.
It's a global problem i believe, SOE fudged the key binds in this patch, this was present on test before the patch, but apparently didn't get noticed by anyone, or they were unable to have it fixed before pushing the patch to live. Key binds set before the patch should still work, it's just saving new binds that are the problem(at least in my observations).
Mine also doesn't work. It's A4 X7, buttons 4 and 5 (web back, fwd), I accidentally erased web fwd setting and now cannot get it back, not that the other one works anyway! Tried different drivers, no luck. In fact none of keybindings for these buttons cannot be set. Flying impossible without this... I can't believe SOE would let this slip through unnoticed.
My workaround has always been to set through the mouses own configuration the buttons to send something that's on the physical keyboard. Whatever you have free, like arrow-keys. Then use the mouse profiles to switch between Planetside 2 config(s) and the normal desktop config.
Tried something like that with mouse drivers, no luck. And why would anyone need to do that anyway, it all worked perfectly until Valkyrie update?!?
Thx i tried that but Planetside 2 just wont detect the mouse key im pressing, i actually gave up, i tried different software to remap my mouse buttons, different drivers, changing the XML manually, copying one of my friends who had a similar mouse and nothing really worked. To add an insult to the injuries SOE decided to add he stupid mouse acceleration and ruined the entire air game for me even if you tuern it off, the mouse movement is still way off, with out keybinds and with my aim all mess up i stopped flying completely and barely play this anymore.
Buying a new mouse did the trick, I can remap all keys now!! WOOHOO! It seems that the settings are locked for previous one and perhaps only reinstall of the complete game would help, or I am too stupid to see any other solution...
What mouse did you buy that works? Am having this issue as well, with mouse buttons mapped to the default keystrokes in Logitech software, it just won't work in the field. The strangest part is it does work in Game Settings...meaning I can set the proper key using the mapped mouse button (ie. G for grenade, F for ability, 1-4 for 1-4, etc), but when I attempt to toss a grenade or activate ability during a fight there's no response. Frustrating!
I bought A4Tech Bloody ZL5A. The previous one was A4Tech X7-747H and it died on me, so I had to replace it anyway. The new one works like a charm and I can set all the bindings like before! That's with the Bloody software, haven't tried it with just the Windows drivers.
Thanks for responding! Looks like re-installing Logitech Software and creating new Profiles has solved my issue, based on initial results...but I'll be "testing" further today
i know this is an old post but my logitech g700s only lets me set two keys and is so frustrating if i could get any help would be amazing thanks!
