The TR Armstice became my favorate allmost instantly but still, more the merrier. IF there are NEW smg-models out in the patch, do post some STATS. I want a comparison. For starters: Mag size? Attachments?
according to some preliminary stats on planetside.wikia.com the new SMGs have an increase mag-size. NC/VS have 50 bullets, TR has 60 bullets per magazine. that said - until the patch goes live we won't know for sure. it will also take a few hours/days 'till the spreadsheet at ps2.dynet.com will be updated.
Yep...they decide to make more crap instead of working on the features they promised. Honestly if they have time to barf up more of the same crap, why not put that time into hotfixes, so the big updates aren't just giant hotfixes and instead, ARE ACTUALLY UPDATES... Im lookin at you "game update 3"...AKA just a giant hotfix.
Did you actually read the information they released yesterday? I mean they annoucned new SMG's at last weeks Friday night ops, and it was up on the Wiki before that. Just because they released this stuff, doesn't mean you aren't getting the Feb roadmap content in Feb. You probably wont, it'll likely be early march, but who cares? Your welcome to fall back on the tired: "Well they swore they would get it out by ____" time, since you know, that is the convenient argument to use in this situation, but make sure to adjust your blinders before you do.
PDW-16 hailstorm FRIGGIN SIXTY(60!!!) rounds per mag. Double C-mag ^^ Soft point ammo, comp, flashider, silencer. The usual scopes, no 6X. Flashlight, grip AND laser up to lvl2 Damn you SOE, you just made the original SMGs obsolete... Well, maybe, a bit spray and prey this new.
They're not obsolete, the higher mag capacity SMGs will all do less damage. If anything, that makes the new ones pointless imo.
different teams working on different projects. If I worked on a MMO I would rather be on the modeling team than the coding and debugging team
Higher damage per shot and lower RoF, with better ADS mechanics. This should reduce burst damage but increase sustained damage. That's the rumor so far.
You fail to understand how a game design team works. They have the Engine team, the art team, the weapons guys, the vehicle guys and all of the those team members are not working on the roadmap as the roadmap might not have anything to do with them. An art guy is probably not going to be very proficient at optimizing engine code, so he will continue creating new art to be brought in game when his team is done with it etc. The roadmap can change. It is not written in stone. It is a map to let us know the big changes that they plan and when they HOPE they can bring them to the game.
[17:04] <Sprintfox> Well [17:04] <Sprintfox> I've tested the Blitz [17:04] <Sprintfox> 5 minutes = 25/9 [17:04] <Sprintfox> I wouldn't say it's op. [17:04] <Sprintfox> You've to aim more for the head. [17:05] <Sprintfox> Otherwise you'll suck with that weapon. [17:05] <Sprintfox> If you try to focus on the main body [17:05] <Sprintfox> you'll spoof 50 bullets [17:05] <Sprintfox> into a chest and still not get him down. [17:05] <Sprintfox> If you aim for the head, it goes really fast. [17:06] <Sprintfox> Good weapon for infiltrator.
Pretty much: NC: Less damage, better clip, better fire rate. Pretty much an actual SMG TR: Double clip size for a bit of fire rate. Pretty sure it does the same damage. Atleast, according to game stats. More or less a straight buff. (No need to mount extended clip, just stick a laser sight on there, so massively better hipfire) VS:Fires faster, has a bigger clip. Does less per round and loses some reload speed. Naturally, the bigger ammo pool makes these better for infilitrators, and being able to chose laser dot always means it's a better buy in a sense., since your hipfire is always better.
Pretty good appraisal from the short trial that I did--higher ROF, less damage, maybe a touch less sustained accuracy out of the box, but you can stick a compensator on it. I'll probably stick with the Cyclone with an extended mag just because it hits hard. Since I'm playing engineer mostly when I use it, a total of 150 rounds instead of 250 isn't as big a factor, I just drop myself an ammo pack.
Just trialled the NC new smg, it's pretty nice. Never really got to use the other when I trialled it. If I didn't already have the GD7-f, GR-22, and Jackhammer i'd buy this right now.
Pretty sure they said from the start that they would be releasing more. Wouldn't matter what way round you'd release them people would still moan regardless.
